Ok guys just want to know what is your rpm's at 80 mph. I have a 92 ty and when I go 80 I am running at 2900 rpm's and 9in of vucuum. in fourth gear. now I want to know if my tc is locking or not. because 2900 seems too high for 80 mph. thanks everyone

Serious about performance
My RPMs are 2400-2500 around there, I think. If I'm wrong, it's because I'm getting my data from a DataMaster run and I usually don't log highway cruising (just WOT pulls) but I think I found some data that will work. My truck's drivetrain is all stock.

I used the mph calculator and came up with 159mph @ 5300 rpm in overdrive, with lockup with a 26 inch tire with 3.42 gear. Half of that should be 2650.... If you maintain a steady speed above 60 and press the brake pedal, you should see the engine rpms increase a few hundred rpms, as doing this should dis-engage the torque coverter if it is locked up.
