"S" looking heater hose

Has anyone replaced the short "S" looking hose between the metal line and the radiator. If so where did you get a replacement. I had to match one up closest to mine at Advance, but I put it on last night and I'm worried about the amount of water flow. It's not kinked completely but it's not wide open either.

Thanks guys.

If yer concerned about it collapsing, take an inside measurement of the hose, then goto a local hardware store and find springs that will fit inside it. Thats what I did on the back side of my L2A intercooler (stocker) to make sure it didnt collapse the hoses. Worked great, still no issues.

Just a thought, I know which hose you are referring about, I just yanked my radiator the other day.

Also...

Napa has a good selection of that 3/4" heater hose. they even have a pre formed 180* that works well back there, so that you don't kink it.

GM still has these hoses. I bought a couple for myself from Dal Slabough at Van Devere- 1-877-448-5451. They were about $10 apiece.

Scott,

Do you have the NAPA part #'s for these? I'm re-routing my IC hoses this week.

Thanks for all the input. I got it back together last night. And after filling it with coolant and firing it up and topping off took the cap off and squeezed the strait hose from the core to the metal pipe. And then watched for the coolant to move in the radiator, it did so I feel that the flow was not restricted and the hose is not kinked.

Yeh, I gotta call Dal 4 one of those 3/4" S hoses. Say how 'bout the other, 5/8" hose that goes to the IM ? It's formed also - hope GM has that one also.

I'd like those part #'s too
the local Napa has a keyboard jocky at the counter

It usually goes like this….

Jockyguy:: Morning sir (sir?) an I help you ?

Me: sure Im looking for a 90 deg bend ¾ heater hose

Jockyguy:: Um ok make and model ?

Me: Sorry I don’t know but Ive been told ya got them
And it’s going into a custom set-up.

Jockyguy:: Ok lets just try…

Me: I’m game…. 84 Fiero se with a 95 vortec 4.3 and a syclone turbo induction system

Jockyguy:: (Fast and Furious key stroking) Um… GM never put a 4.3 in a fiero

Me: Oh, I know, remember I said it’s a custom set-up ?
(so Im looking down the isle and half way down guess what I see..)

Jockyguy:: but there’s no way you can fit that in there…

Me: Um, ok … let’s try something else…
turn 180 deg walk until I say stop….
(Jocky turns and starts walking)
Ok stop an turn right and look ¾ of the way up on the shelf

Jockyguy:: Whoa dude how didja do that

Me: It's a Smoky Yanuck thing

Jockyguy:: Who's he ?

Ya wouldn’t believe what I go through at the dealerships, even with Syclone part #’s

Heater Hoses.

Heater Hoses.

Hey Guys, I just ordered both "formed" heater hoses from GM - Dal.

Will probably cost me ~ $40. even at his wholesale prices, however. But with no F'ing room to mod anything and the fact that U don't want any of the hoses laying on any hot surfaces, I'm thinking the formed bends might be better.

For future reference here's some info on the two hoses needed.

Top heater hose I got from AutoZone part # M4106----$15.00
Bottom hose (S) I got at Advance part # (A)70799cs---$4.99
