As a business owner i know there will be unreasonable, and angry customers. You can only do you best to please them.
When this went down (August 2007), I asked you about this, instead of the lengthy explanation you offered here, you wrote to me: "LMAO. Please sign the release form and don't bother calling again" Is that what you mean by "doing your best" to please "angry and unreasonable customers?"

Did you think the new box, the shipping tape, the peanuts, and the bubble wrap is free? Do you think the person processing your label / boxing the intake according to UPS standards works for free? Call it a handling cost, call it an actual cost.. whatever you want, it is a cost that comes out of my pocket."
It sounds like you are admitting that your charge is more than just the "actual shipping charges" your store policy stated. That is the source of my complaint. Don't claim "actual" if you want to add your business costs on top of it.

If you are going to make outlandish claims you better have a reason or documentation to follow up your claims.
Oh I agree completely. Fortunately I keep good records in case of situations like this.
Yeah there is more to the story. The start of our problems was when you inexplicably became unable to powdercoat the manifold gray after I agreed to pay your $45 charge to do it. Then, after you started work on my manifold, you claimed that the "stock appearing" service I ordered would cost an additional $$$ fee to become "stock appearing". But that's a whole 'nother topic..
The $19 difference in shipping charges is a drop in the bucket compared to the attitude I received from you, along with your threat of siezing MY intake manifold, blackmailing me into signing a contract under duress (look it up), and demanding "certified payment". For each claim I will list the reason/documentation from your emails to me:
Attitude:
"If you are competent enough to port the manifold, I think you can operate a can of spray paint."
Powdercoating is not the same as spray painting. I wouldn't have agreed to pay you $45 to powdercoat it if I thought I could do the job myself.
Threat to sieze my property, blackmailing me into a contract under duress, demanding certified payment:
"When you are ready you can either send a certified payment in the amount of $250 + $30 shipping/handling, or we will send you another untouched stock replacement intake with your water fitting (I'll even drop it in a bucket of used motor oil so it looks just like the one you sent us)"
I shipped my original intake manifold with a list of exactly what services I wanted done, including this statement:
"* Do not exchange this manifold for any other without approval". Why would you think it's OK to send me a different one in return? What's with the threat of dropping it in used motor oil? (WTF?)
"We will only accept your credit card as a form of payment after signing and faxing back a product acceptance release form."
You already accepted my credit card payment days earlier. Suddenly you decided to refund my credit card and demand "certified payment" of a cashiers check/money order. Neither of which is listed on your store policy as accepted payment methods.
Your "product acceptance release form" is preposterous.
You wanted me to send you certified payment and demanded that I sign a contract accepting it "AS-IS" for work I had never seen?? When I suggested adding my specific manifold casting date to the "release form" you said: "I don't care what your casting number is, what line of crap you spent 30 minutes writing on your piece of paper, therefore don't mention it in our release form." Now you tell me who is unreasonable.
"Knowing you, the next step will be a charge back"
I have never done a charge back in my life, so I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Obviously you don't know me nearly as well as you think you do.
"I'm refunding your $280 we charged to your visa card on 8/15/07. You can mail us a certified check or money order in the amount of $280."
I can't believe you had the nerve to post on this thread: "And i almost forgot, to those of you who are trying to figure out the actual shipping cost factor in another 3% for accepting his credit card."
You blackmailed me into signing a bullshit contract under the threat of keeping my manifold against my wishes/instructions, in order to accept my credit card in the first place. Then you insisted upon refunding it and demanding certified payment. And you accuse me of wanting to waste YOUR time.
