Shake at speed

I've encountered a problem with my truck...

After I installed new front axles, lower ball joints, and cv joints along with a tune-up and an alignment, I still get a shake from about 72 mph and up. Perhaps I should have my wheels balanced? Also, the truck still wanders a lot on uneven pavement. I'm wondering if it's because of the 255 tires. Is the wander typical of our trucks?

I'm still learning, and apologize if these questions have been answered before. I still haven't mastered the art of the search feature on this site. Every time I search for something, I end up with about 3,000,000 threads to explore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the vibration comes on at the same mph every time then it is a wheel balance issue or front driveshaft issue(you can pull the front driveshaft and see if it goes away)
If it comes on with accelleration or decelleration or you find one minute at 65 its fine then a few minutes later on an uphill stretch at 65 it shakes like crazy, suspect bad rear end, u-joints, or bent yoke.
Take care

Well, they are balanced... but the thing was that the truck sat in one place for three years. The old tires had flat spots, and were starting to dry-rot between the treads. The fellas at the shop tried to balance the wheels before, but the flat spots were still vibrating my guts out of my nostrils, and making my damned tailgate chirp like eighty billion birds!

New tires, and problem remedied.
