Anyone know if the little rubber boot/sleve at the trans end of the shifter cable is replaceable?

is there anything else that uses an according style boot?

Unfortunately no, as I just paid $300.00 for a new cable from GMC.

Found something we maybe can use for our purpose
its a look alike boot from a mercruiser I/O shifter cable for about 9 bucks.

That seems a lot. I know they are hard to get but weren't there some HD cables available from Blake? Have they now been sold to RPM at all?

I can't see the boot being that hard to find seeing as there were thousands of 700r4 trannies made?

that is a great find on the Mercruser boot. that place charges an extra 7.00 for "small orders" turns a $9 dollar boot to a $23 boot....

Found Dorman parts has repo ones for $60.00. Part # 16662. havent actually seen one yet but its another alternative to Vintage Parts and there price gouging.
