Shipping a Typhoon

Any idea on how much to ship a Ty from Las Vegas to New York??

I am interested in the Red/Red Ty on Ebay and before I start getting twisted over it, I wanted to see if anyone has an idea on, I guess, on some sort of enclosed trailer. Also, what company, etc., etc.

Any info would be great.
TIA,

Jimmy

Shipping is expensive, I was looking at pretty close to a grand just from Dallas to Kansas City.

Wow, talk about fast trucks...even faster replies..lol

Anyway, thanks for the quick replies, I e-mailed the seller to try to find out his 'reserve' price and to see if he knows of any shipper out there that could be of service.

I will keep you updated....that Ty needs a good home. 8)

Jimmy if you snag that truck, your the luckiest guy on the planet

Good luck.

And back to the shipping, my old neighbor was a truck driver, he transported cars, open though. I think he said from Idaho to Maine it was like $1,000 open trailer. My guess from Vegas to New York would be around $1,500, just like Jeff said.

Let us know, I'm curious as well :)

i have no clue on prices personally, but as for company, Horseless Carriage out of NJ is one of the best in the country. And dude, if you buy that thing, I swear I will turn GREEN with envy! That truck is truly one of those once-in-a-lifetime things to see up for sale. Let us know if you start brewing any more ideas-

I recommend Passport Transport ---> www.passporttransport.com

I've had them ship two cars for me in the past and my father has had them ship 20+ cars over the last several years. Never had a problem. My father knows the owner/founder personally and does receive a discounted rate, but their rates are quite reasonable. (Jay Leno and Arnold Shwarzenegger use them exclusively to ship their cars.) 8)

They only do enclosed transport. You'd be nuts to have that typhoon transported on an open trailer . I'm guessing at least $1,500 to have it shipped to NJ.

Coincidentally, Passport has several trucks in Las Vegas this upcoming weekend for the Vegas car auction that is going on. If you're seriously considering this typhoon, you could probably get it shipped out this weekend.

$1500 - $1800 probably a good range. I had a car shipped from Idaho to Ohio several months ago and it was $1400 for an inclosed trailer. I did a lot of price checking and talked to a lot of companies. Need to be sure they are reputable.

What are you trying to do? I get a low mileage ty and you get a ty without mileage! What's next a marlboro syclone? Jimmy, that looks like a real sweet truck. Good luck. Wish it was available when I was looking. Looks like NASTE might score another one..... You gonna sell your POS? :D :D :D

Thanks for the info guys,...I e-mailed the seller, but he hasn't replied or called (I e-mailed my phone number), so we will see.

Mike, all that collecting cans and bottles on Tuesdays and Thursdays has given me the possibility of buying that nice Ty, let's just hope the guy doesn't want $40,000 for it.

I would imagine that you are in the catbird's seat. I'm sure that there aren't too many people that would give 30k for a 10 year old Jimmy :D
You could possibly be the only person that makes this guy a serious offer. Now he might try to hold out for more considering it has such low mileage, but it is not the lowest mileage Typhoon in the country.I believe 93 #2200 has 47 miles.

Good luck man!

i had two vehicles shipped from seattle to detroit. cost was around $3000 +/-.

anyway, i had a decent experience and could dig up the paperwork on the place if you want. PM if interested.

the company i went through transported all lingenfelter's cars.

I don't think anybody might get this Ty. I e-mailed the seller a few times and got no response...

Also, the 'reserve price' has not been met...can imagine how much he wants...

as far as it goes, my personal suggestion would be if you could get a couple days off work fly down and drive it back up. plane tickets+gas would be way lower than shipping and youve got a ton of highway to get aquainted with the car.

I had a friend whos dad bought a porsches every 2 years. he lived in TN but he bought his cars in CA just for the road trip home.

I think with that low of mileage drving it back would be pointless.

triple the mileage just to get truck home.

Assuming he is buying truck for a show type, and not a driver that is.
