Shock help

Just got this TY a few weeks ago and would like to improve the ride.
It is a little sloppy. From what I can tell it is stock with blocks in rear for lowering. It has the air shocks on the rear with it wired to switches on the dash to raise or lower. The ride is loose and scary at times. What is the best setup with out spending a ton.

Re: Shock help

Sway bar from Beltech in the rear.

Are your shocks stock? They may have failed so need replacing.

Re: Shock help

What do you mean by loose? Are your wheel bearings tight? Jack it up and se if the wheel wobbles with it of the floor. If so you need new bearings.

Re: Shock help

Just the shocks feel loose
Don't like the air shocks
Front dives under hard stops
Steering feels good
Do I need the coil over conversion?or just good shocks?

Re: Shock help

Pulled the stock front shocks today and there was no resistance on compression,I would think that that was the problem.Replaced them with the KYB mono max from Summit.I would like to replace the air shocks in the rear any help?suggestions ?

Re: Shock help

Replace the rear air shocks. It rides like you're on a balloon with them. Supple, but not great handling characteristics. You can use the matching KYB's in the rear. I personally like the Bilesteins or QA1's.

Re: Shock help

Got Monomax's all around.

They're OK, not great...Better than stock thou...

A rear bar will help.

The designer of the Blazer/Jimmy/S-10 suspension must have been liquored up that day...
