Just returned my 325 Ci (lease ended), and ready to buy a Syclone. No regrets w/ the bimmer, nice car, will lease another one. Probably a 330 Ci as soon as they are available.

Re: Shocked BMW Owner

I thought it was so funny to read the one guys reply about how bad the interior is on our trucks, reffering to the dash board and the old nobs... I thought that was odd since I was at the auto show... sema in Los Angelos and I thought how bland thier dash boards were in the new BMR's, all black color, and very plain, ughhh.. Man I'll take a Mercedes Benz with the interior built for the Gods long before I take a BMR.
But I have to say that was the funniest damn kill story I have read in a long damn time.

BMrs have their place. bringing up the rear...

Owner at my co has a M5 and its nice, expensive, but nice.
Don't tell anyone but he fits the pretentious pricks on the inside motif.

Everyone I know (that isn't rich) who has had a BMr said the maintenance costs ate them alive.
It’s like making 2 car payments if you use the dealer.
Heather and I considered a used M3, but she loves her Subaru and it’s paid for.

I've got an older 525I thats turbo charged and has some nice 3-piece German wheels and stainless exhaust. I'm not quite done with all the turbo swap goodies and I'm doing it slowly to enjoy it.
I'm simply doing it up for some low boost fun weekends and date nite.......that is if I ever start dating again.
If owning a Bimmer makes me a Dick in your eyes before you've met me than that says alot about your character. Its a machine, just like my SY and Datsun Z and my Scrambler...etc.
They are all customized/moddified and make for great hobbies too.
Actually.......its usually folks who get too strung out on one particular brand that makes for bad reputation or representation.
I'm simply a car lover and love to express myself through them and it keeps me from shooting idiots in the mean while.......

hows the sy dean?

Wish I had an answer to that... I saw Mike on the 22 or 23 and asked him how much longer he thought it would be till my trucks is done and he said two more weeks... I have not heard from him as off today... I know I should not rush him but man I'm tired of waiting for this thing to be completed... I'll call him Friday night if I don't hear from him and ask what's going on and how much longer to expect it to be resolved. I think I'm well in over 20gs now with Mike but this kind of thing takes time, esecially when you run into the obsticles he had with my truck.

BMW has free maintenance for 4 years or 48,000 miles on all new cars. I believe they are even doing the free maintenance on their certified BMW's. Either way, I can't wait to pick up my 06 M3 Competition Coupe this thursday.

The kill story is classic!

I understand, but sterotypes come from somewhere and as much as people think they are wrong, there are good reasons they have come to be for many of them. Arrogant BMW owners is a good example, that is all people are saying. Not all, but many.

I liked this

" I have heard this happen a few times. People aren't really aware of the power that these trucks have. I see a Syclone and Typhoon around occassionally and they are definitely sleepers. Plus they are pretty light. I don't know what motor they run or what turbo, but GM did a legit job with them. Anybody have any information on the motor and turbo? "

hehe pretty light!!!!

Re: Shocked BMW Owner

Quick side note:
Driving home from work today, a Beemer pulls out in fron of me, driving like an idiot. Wasn't sure if he was messing with me or not so I run up towards him. He swings two lanes across in front of me so I pull up next to him. It's a early 2000's 530i.
He steps on it, so I follow and we go neck and neck for a short period and the light turns red in fron of us...needless to say, I am psyched. What does he do, he swings into the turn lane at the last minute....loser. So i lean out ask him politely, "You sure didn't want to go straight?"
Wonderful response from a guy that should have spent the extra buck for a 540, "Didn't want to embarass you!"
Sadly, my response was not planned well enough, " more like youdidn't want to get beaten by an old truck!"
To which, he rolled up his window...

Thats what I was thinking, what would make them think that an awd truck or suv is light? Some people have no common sense

I still like the story in kill sections about the new viper:
I rolled the window down so the driver could see me and was talking to him to try and get him to roll his window down also. He went for it and dropped his window. I said nice car, I was thinking about getting one till I found out that Syclones were quicker... You should have seem his face. I bet he never even realized his mouth was open for like 5 seconds before he simply put up his window and proceeded to stair at the light.
Thats such a good line to use, who could say no to that?

My dad just sold his 02 330 coupe...decided on a 68 Camaro and is now buiding a 415 for her...I say, much better choice Paps!!!

....anyway, they aren't much at all. Don't get me wrong, it is a hell of a nice car, but it isn't going to touch a syty from light and would have a hard time hanging from a roll against a stocker. For the same price, you can get a zo6 and it would suck the paint off the thing.

In the UK, we have a show called Top Gear. They are now saying that because everyone has a BMW, you are more individual if you buy a Ford Mondeo.

So much for BMW exclusivity :D
