Side exhaust????

I want to do side exahst on my ty. But I dont want to go under the frame like I have seen done. Not only does it look like shit, you can for get about taking it anywhere with speed bump. So here is a pic I photoshopped of my idea. My Idea is to go through the frame but I am concerned about it losing it integrity. Any ideas on how to reinforce it? Or should i just forget it?

With the cost and rarity of replacement cladding, I wouldn't come within an inch of thinking about cutting it up at all. Just my .02

I have owned mine for going on five years now. I have come to the conclusion that if you are concerned about cost you should buy a different ride. And as far as finding cladding there are enough assholes out there who can't drive that I'm sure I can find some eventually. Eventually. I have learned that if I had a a dollar for everytime I have said/heard eventually, soon, maybe, it gonna take alittle longer that expected in referance to this truck. Money would never be an issue. :)

I want to do a 'nascar' style side exhaust sometime on mine.. kinda like this but actually inbedded into the cladding:
*ignore the wheels.. was just another idea*

I have no idea where to find an exhaust tip like this style tho.

It's done alot in street rodding(through the frame). All you do is cut out a hole weld in a pipe for reinforcing it. Then you can run the exhaust through it. Very easy to do. I kinda like it,but to cut up good cladding.........damn

Hey Pete you can get those tips pretty easy, I've seen them around at exhaust shops.

What wheels are those on your Ty Pete, Ultra 191 or ......?

That was my original plan just couldnt get it to look right. I am also a really big fan of the roush exhaust. Thats where I came up with this.

My roush had it. to me it looked like it added restriction on the exhaust. The muffler had the in and out on the same side. so the exhaust came in ,bounced around and came out then 90* out the side. Should be able to do it with the roush style muffler. Both sides or just one.

My Roush had side exhaust, even though the in and out were in the front of the muffler it seemed to flow good and was loud too. Sorry I dont have a better pic of it.

had to look hard to see the stang. :) oh yeah mine was a stage 3. very loud. Ihad an aftermarket exhaust. I loved the look. just not sure about a ty application. flowmasters sound good but dont work good for our trucks.

I'd have a hard time cutting up good cladding personally. I thought I remember a while ago guys were talkin about doin it for Sy's?

Nope, but I am relentless in my pursuit to obtain a Aspen Blue. Somebody will sell one somewhere....someday :).

sorry the aspen one is just a pic i found to photo shop. Its not mine. I wish it were.
