not but maybe a week ago i replaced my front calipers rotors and pads due to a siezed caliper and today noticed that my left front (originally siezed before) is smoking again! could this be a clogged line???

Re: siezed?

Did you change the caliper bolts when you changed the caliper? A bent bolt would cause the caliper to hang up. I would think a clogged or kinked line would make the brakes not work vs keeping it locked up.

Re: siezed?

yeah it was a semi loaded caliper, came with new pin bolts etc. is line replacement a pain in the ass? i havent really looked at it other than the replacement of rotors etc. i knew somthing was up still when it still pulled to the right under braking

Re: siezed?

Replacing a ine isn't that bad, bleeding the brakes will be the pain. I've never seen a line cause a seized caliper but anything's possible. I've heard of the master cylinder rod hanging up and siezing brakes but I would think that would effect all four corners, not just one caliper

Re: siezed?

Clogged line. Had the same exact thing happen on my 72 short bed. It was right where my hard line hit my flex. Just bleed the crap out of your system, you should see small debris.

Re: siezed?

The soft lines rot from the inside out, locking calipers.Very common problem on S10's.

Replace both sides. The lines are cheap.

Re: siezed?

ABS not releasing pressure?

no abs! it was deleted. along with the washer resivior..... not sure why haha

thanks guys! ill try and get it up in the air and bleed it or just replace it. quick other question: so the soft line connects somewhere and is a seperate part from the hard line?

Re: siezed?

Your soft line attaches on the frame and the caliper. It's only like 8 in or so and you may want to consider a nice set of Russells braided lines in place of the stocker stuff. Much better quality and will last alot longer.

Re: siezed?

spray them lines with PB blaster definently the brake lines i had this same case on my truck after it was sitting for quite a while.
pb blaster is pretty good, my favorite is the CRC Freeze Off. works wonders. but if i recall the PO said it sat for a long time so sounds like thats the issue.
