Re: Silicone Vac Kits GP Interest - read!

Its time to do another batch of the famed Ian Turgeon Silicon Vac Hose Kit!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a silicone Vacuum Hose kit to entirely replace the GMC Syclone and Typhoon's underhood vacuum harness. The kit includes detailed instructions with diagrams, high grade silicone hose, high quality black nylon elbows and T's, as well as high quality polycarbonite/viton disc check valves. It is all measured, cut, assembled, and tested with a vacuum pump for leaks and correct check valve operation.

I will be heading up the GP for this round and helping Ian out. Price last time was $60/50 depending on which version purchased. Id like to keep around that price range again.

I need to see what kind of interest there is to do another round. Please post up if you are interested in getting the vac kit. Then, we'll move on and go from there.

Cool idea. Do you know how long it might take to get these? Sounds like a lot of kits so far! :hang:

I am definitely in! I'm sick and tired of my dry rotting vac hoses and cheap silicone replacements that suck closed!!! I would like red hoses for an egr delete but black would be fine as well. -Matt

It will definitely take a few weeks. Im hoping to get the GP cart up today so everyone can do their purchase. In the past, its taken about a week to get the materials when we order it. Then, the fun of measuring, cutting, fastening, testing every single piece does take time. Once pieces are complete and have been tested, they'll get sent.

Ideally, Id like to have the materials and be making kits in the next 2-3 weeks. Holidays puts a big of a lag, but we should be able to push through and still get stuff done.

I'm in for a set black without egr. Let me know when you need the money. Thanks!

This may sound bad, but not meant to. Are these kits the thick silicone vacuum line? The reason I ask, like posting #65 I'm tired of the thin silicone vacuum line collapsing which is all I can find here locally.

This hose will not collapse under vacuum.

They are made with a platinum curing process. It offers an increase in tensile strength (5%+), elongation (50%+), and tear strength (10%+) over peroxide cured silicone, making these lines perfect for high performance motors. Platinum curing also makes the vacuum hose more supple and more resistant to nicks and tearing.

we use 2 wall thicknesses, the thicker of the two for the lines that have short radius bends to prevent kinking

I believe that there is a thicker wall tubing, but it has a smaller inside diameter and of course, it costs more. For those that would want it, its an option, but I dont think its neccessary.

Im setting up a shopping cart, so everyone who has posted interest here can go over and place their order. I only initially made this post just to see what the interest level was....and its way over than I thought it was going to be. :p You guys love this kit apparently. :rotf: For those who do not wish to pay via internet, once I get the cart up, I will give my address (via PM) to those wanting to send a check/MO/cash, etc.

Shipping for most in the US should be $4.95 USPS 3 day priority per kit once they get out the door. There is still some detail stuff to work out and get done. Canada and overseas, I need to figure out what s/h would be for you guys.

I'll take a set in black.

How about a kit for the Sonoma GT's?
