Couple comments; I had assumed when people talk "from a roll" they do mean 35+mph roll. I was thinking, it's when you are at cruising speed and someone pulls up next to you wanting to race, and a red light isn't in sight and you both want to race now. So rather than stop traffic in the middle of a road where there is no stop, they just go from a roll..
As for the MPH being slow, I think someone else (can't remember who) put it best when they suggested it's not so much the MPH being slow, but the ET being especially quick because of the [near] 100% traction at launch. I think our trucks run equal ET to V8s except with a fair amount less HP. For instance my Sy is stock chip, etc. and rated at 280HP and I can run a 13.36 @ 98 MPH so far, while my friend's 01 Camaro SS is rated at like 325HP and he runs 13.25 but at a much higher MPH (107). Now I honestly beleive both of our vehicles here are underrated from the factory so let's just assume the rated figures are correct. It would seem the Sy is able to run the same ET as the LS1-V8 but with 45 less HP.
