A very good friend of mine purchased a mint low mile 98 vette today and i went by to have a look at it (very nice, i must say). While i was there admiring it his Harley fanatic and 5.0 neighbors dropped by to have a peek as well, the conversation quickly turned to 0-60 times and what "THEY" thought were fast. (please keep in mind that i live in Canada and most people have never heard of a syclone or typhoon) My friend has never experienced a syclone and only heard of them through my obsession of them. The conversation briefly turns to my "little black S-10" and how cute they are with their body kit and turbo engine. I was so pissed off because they were mocking (teasing) me because i sold my mint 5.0 to get my truck and they continued to more or less make fun of it, but i was the bigger man and didn't say anything. What would you have said or done?

lol I would've raced one of em to 60, see which one of their hot rods would "Win"!

...only 22% of them actually made it home. :)

Link them to a site to show 0-60 in 4.3 and 1/4 in 13.1 stock. I had to do this to a guy at my work about his GNX the other day. Learned they only do 0-60 in 5.3 and 1/4 in 13.3 .

He hasnt said anything about a race since :) ---

You could have given them a mouth full of knuckles!! :rotf: no just kidding, you did the right thing. But you could have said lets line them up and see who has the better times then.. or tell them be quiet or you are going to break their ankles! j'k again!

I've always thought of Harley's as ricers of the motorcycle world, obnoxiously loud and slow. But they think they're a bunch of bada$$'s. I've had a couple run ins with Harley's before in the Vette. I woulda casually asked them to line em up too.

My neighbor is always like man your Jimmy is so clean yada, i wanna smack him in the face. I swear, i tell him every time, its not a jimmy its a Typhoon...

That is the perfect opportunity to make a few bucks in a race. Ask them to line up for beers or dinner, if you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings too badly.

If you don't care, start the bidding at $500 ;)
