Smoke coming out of the dipstick hole.

Had a CEL on and drove home pulled the dipstick and noticed smoke swirling outta there... oil levels were fine and 15 minutes later started the truck up again and no more CEL. Any idea whats the smoke coming outta the dipstick hole means? I've never seen that before on any other car..

Ive noticed that on mine but I figured out why, when there was oil residue left on the dipstick since it was so close to the turbo it would actually burn it away and make a little bit of smoke.

With the engine idling, open your oil fill on the valve cover. Put your hand over it, if you can feeling air pushing out, you need an engine rebuild.

A little smoke coming out of the dipstick tube or oil fill hole isnt anything to freak out about, but as dgoodhue said, if you can feel air movement, be prepared for a rebuild or head work.
