Yes...

Lowering blocks in the rear, and cranking down the torsion bars up front. Its all over here...easily found in search.

So, not to be a stick in the mud, but... back to the original topic ;)

Has anyone swapped out the steering column on these trucks for something shorter? I'm not claustrophobic, but it is annoying when my stomach almost (or does) touch the steering wheel. I'm not exactly a small guy ;)

I just bought a Sy myself and Im 6ft tall. Its tight in there for sure. I say long trips in that thing are out for me. It feels so much different than my Ty does i guess its the weight.

Smaller wheels help (Grant, etc...) and modifying the hub for the aftermarket wheels can get you another 1.5 - 2" clearance there. But, at some point you're just limited by cab space. The Sy seat is on the back of the cab and there's only so much room to give on the column (turn signal, tilt lever, ign cylinder, etc... all have to fit).

I'm 6' 1", 230 and the smaller wheel really made life easier for me.

BTW, I miss you Dubb.

I'm 6'4" and don't have a problem with the steering wheel- its the lack of padding in the seats that is the pain in the butt- literally.

lack of padding????

gm used the stock s-series seats, and ADDED and extra layer of foam padding to them for the sy's.

that's why you dont fit.

i put the 93 fat man seats in my sy along with the door panels, and i actually fit in the truck now.:rotf:

i probably gained 4-5 inches in the legroom/distance from the steering wheel space.

I am a little afraid that Adam has a picture of me with my shirt 1/2 way off too.....

I like you Adam , just not in that way. Its flattering , we just aren't going to share a room..ok...

Jim , Syclones are for short people. Typhoon is much more gangsta. And 92 Typhoon is the most gangsta. The seat goes back far enough, that I was behind the B pillar. Thats how I rolled in 93-99 .

My Sy had a roll up rear window when I got it, and it was about another inch shorter. Ditched that. Grant steering wheel , but I still feel cramped in it. Im only about 5 - 10 - 165.

I picked up Bdubbs old Syclone and driving it home tonight I quickly started to feel clausterphobic.

Damn you GM for not making the cab 3in longer so I could kick it back with a hellafied gangsta lean.

Is this the same INTMD8 from LS1tech/Speed Inc? If it is, are y'all gonna start working your magic on Syty's? If it is my buddy Jerry bought, then recently re-sold the TT kit off of your LT1. He never installed it

Yes, I work at Speed Inc.

My plan was to install my 427LSX with twin turbos into a Typhoon, but then this Syclone came along.

Bdubb was just over checking it out and I pulled off the steering wheel adapter. Should be able to move the wheel forward 1.5 inches after milling and re-tapping the adapter.
