Solid Mounts

Does anyone make solid mounts that work with the stock frame pads. All I've seen in searches are the Moroso mounts that require buying the RPM frame pads or making your own.
Thanks.

Pretty sure RPM has the monopoly on this though Sportmachine may have an offering. They tend to have most anything we need for these lovely vehicles.

Is there some reason for not making a mount that goes on the stock frame pad? Everybody talks about what a pain it is to swap them when for the RPM lowers.

I forget which ones I have, but they weren't for a SyTy. I believe they were for a Camaro. Frame pads aren't that hard, just time consuming.

I am going to assume it has to do with engine height or something like that. I would have to think that someone would have made a mount to fit the stock frame pad if it were possible.

Combating adversyty.
Re: Solid Mounts

The frame pads are wider than the engine mounts so the mounts won't clear the pads.

I wonder if someone was to notch the pads so they could receive the mounts...just needs a small parallel notch for each pad to let the mount ears slot in. Maybe... I don't have mine in front of me.

The solids pads/mount combo raises things up a bit. Or lowers them

As for not hard... Yeah right. You have almost no clearance and have to get 1/16 or less of a turn on each go. With the diff in, it's hell. Worst job I have ever had to do.

That explains why if the pads are wider. I have a broken drivers' side mount. I put on a torque strap so nothing gets thrashed, but it still has a vibration. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and order some.
Thanks.

Re: Solid Mounts

Lowering the differential sounds like the way to go. I think I'm going to postpone until Summer when I can be driving the convertible to cool off in between mounts. :)
