Something isn't right.............

my Sy seems to have some resistance in the driveline when making a modest to hard left or right turn. It's almost as if something is rubing although I can't seem to figure out what is. The rear tires also seem to not want to rotate as freely when turning. This issue is mainly felt when driving slowly as in turning into a driveway. It almost resembles the feeling of a true 4x4 truck in low gear. What's ging on here. I have recently replaced the rear diff. cover and installed my 17" GS wheels, 17 x 11 in rear.....again, nothing seems to rub here. Yes, I installed limited slip additive in the rear and torqued all bolts to spec.

Please help!!!!

Keep in mind that one of the symptoms of a transfer case clutch failure is that the truck feels like it's in 4WD with tire chirping on a tight right hand turn. I would have mentioned the limited slip additive, but you already said you put that in the rear axle. Could be anything really... since you did a few changes all at the same time. What kinda axle lube did you use?

I used amsoil 80-90 weight gear oil. I used this in my last Syclone and all was good. Regarding your post, it happens when turning both left an right.

Still plays with trucks
I had a similar problem, it seemed to go away after I changed the front propshaft. Don't know if you are having the same prob or not but try taking your propshaft out and drive around the block, see if it still does it. DONT FORGET TO MARK YOUR PROP WITH A GREASE PEN OR CHALK SO YOU CAN PUT IT IN THE SAME WAY YOU TOOK IT OUT!!!

Pulling the front shaft is easy. After you take it out rotate the
front wheels and see if they at least turn free. Try with the
wheels turned in both directions. If ok You probably have a
transfercase problem. I have 275's on 9.5 in the front. I think
pretty much everybody does, so we know thats not the problem.
I'm sure if they were hitting you would hear the grinding. When
you jack up the truck look on the inside lip for rub marks.

Stab it and steer it
So if I understand the question and the answers correctly at full lock, left or right (assuming no rubbing of course) the truck should turn smooth. With no, for lack of a better term, 4 wheel drive jerk. No mater how slight? Going forward, reverse, or both?

Thanks,

Don
