Somewhat out of place

Ive always been a fan of the Syclones and Typhoons but neither one do I own :p But a few weeks ago I did pick up a 1989 s10 Cameo for 150$ and am curious if its worth the effort to restore.

Truck runs great, transmission shifts smoothly and the frame is solid..so its not a total loss yet.

I think I would find another S10 truck with a nicer body and move the cladding and possibly motor and tranny to the other truck..

Those hub caps over the rims crack me up.

Damn. Where in FL did you find that pile?

Yeah, you could find a cab, etc and move it to that frame. You got alot of work ahead of you.

x2. Create a Cameo clone with the cladding and nice, cheap S10 in good shape. Lot less work. The decals on the tailgate can be recreated. I dig the geckos!!

Man - and I thought my latest projects (Sy#1231 and SoGT) were in bad shape. If you give up on it, let me know. I could use some parts off it.

Gimmie a bit and we'll see where this goes. Thankfully for the truck its worth it to me :p

If I cant find a cheap cab and bed then I always can tear into my other s10 if I absolutely MUST.

The main drive for me wanting to fix it up is because its a one owner truck, and the original owner was my good friend David who passed away last year from cancer. He chopped the top with plans to put on a convertible top but didn't make it long enough to finish it.

I have a 1990 s10 cameo .. done swapping the v8 ls1
had the c6 wheels .. and still going on the project

You should finish it for your friend to honor his memory, can't put a price on that. Godfather Customs in Atlanta sold the convertible top kit for that truck back in the day, they might still have one.

The original poster has 3 posts from 7 years ago. Doubtful he's reading this....or that he still has that truck. This thread was brought back from the dead by The_Butcher, who probably should have started a build post.

I almost bought all that cladding I attempted to meet with the seller of the cameo cladding.

I bailed out of the purchase. As well as the s10 cameo I was about to buy.
