Spark Plugs for Stock Syclone

Are you guys having good luck with the stock spark plugs in lightly modded applications? I have the ultimate chip and that's about it.....20 PSI T2 Timing.

Should I stick with the stockers or go a bit colder?

Re: Spark Plugs for Stock SY

if youre still running AC CR42TS's, ditch those turds and try running some NGK UR5's

I dont see any reason to change heat ranges, youre not going to gain anything from it.

I've run AC CR42TS plugs for 12 years now, at up to 25 psi boost. (Race gas)

Autolite 23 will work.

NGK UR5s are good, also.

"trick" plugs come and go, but over the years, the above plugs have really stood the test of time.

I would not go colder unless you are seeing KR.

I have been running NGK UR5's (part number 2771) for several years now and have no complaints. My truck has always idled better with the NGK's than with the CR42TS's.

I been using NGK IRIDIUM UR6IX for 3 years now. Driveability is great. Idle is much better too.

Re: Spark Plugs for Stock Syclone

Thanks guys, I will try the NGK Plugs.

Are you guys gapping them to factory specs or reducing the gap for increased boost applications?

A .026 - .028 gap should work well for you.

Hi guys,

where are you guys buying the NGK Iridium UR6-1X? All my stores can get is the hotter UR5-1X. Thanks.

sparkplugs.com

stock gap is .035"
If you are running higher boost and or alky/meth then you can start closing the gap tighter to reduce detonation or blow out.

I run between .028 and .030 running 20psi and meth.

Nope,

Sparkplugs.com only carries the hotter UR5-1x NGK irridiums, not the UR6-1x, apparently.

Why is this such a rare, un-heard-of plug?

CR42TS with no issues so far. Gapped at .032 for use with 116 octane/25psi.

I might just have to try those NGK thingys since my truck has idled the way it wanted to rather than the way I want it too since Ive owned it.
