Srt-10

Re: Srt-10

If I had to bet my hard earned money on a race between a stock Sy and a stock SRT10 in the a 1/4 mile race:

I would take the Sy if it was a street race.
On a preped track I would take the SRT10.

I'm looking through some old threads for you.....

From his words, the runs were somewhere in Houston, 12.74@109.xxmph, 2.0 60ft. mark (other members have consistantly run 1.9 @1.8 60ft. marks with thier stock trucks). His is an 04 that only came in 4.10 gear, the 05-06 came with 4.56.

His best time to date is after being modded with a drop in K&N, catback, and a tune is 12.5@112mph.

:bs: Now there is proof you're full of shit. There isn't a chance in hell that truck could pull those 60' times in 100% stock form. You are a lier or have been severely misinformed. I don't care if this guy has been racing since he was 3, I say those are impossible times. There had to be at least a drag radial on that thing to pull that kind of 60'. Sorry, I think you're full of it jr.

My :2cents:

For a couple years when they first came out, I follow the SRT-10 track times from time to time. (know your competition) An awfull lot of them ran mid 13's to low 14's (the slower ones being poor/inexperinced drivers) At the time a few of them with good driver ran low 13.1's. Its seems reasonable because of their HP, that a SRT-10 with good traction could run 12.8-12.9's. I would still take my chance with a Syclone in the 1/4 mile. My guess is that comes down to the driver and my guess is 12.8-9 time slip aren't very consist especially with the changing conditions of the street. On the other hand I would bet pink slips stock vs stock either.

?? You don't believe our SRT-10's can hit 1.9 60ft marks stock? I know of one at least one guy who has hit a 1.8 60ft. stock. You must never had heard of airing down the tires and a good track prep. Why is that so hard to believe? I've shown you videos of stock SRT-10's running 12's and you still don't believe? This is really going to pi$$ you off, EVEN QC SRT-10's have hit 1.9 60ft. marks stock. Did you even know that the 05-06 RC SRT-10's have 4.56 gears instead of the 4.10 gears the 04's have?

So because you don't know of the performance of our trucks you call me a lair? lol

We could all go back and forth about stock vs stock. Personally I am sure the 2 door SRT-10s would do well in an actual non-internet based challenge.
Why not get a Denver area SRT-10 to meet Tytilidie and convince him directly? I'd love to see that video!

Re: Srt-10

I can't fathom why he would call B.S on a 2.0, 1.9, 1.8 60ft mark on a stock SRT-10....but I guess I can see why since he doesn't even think an N/A motor will suffer more than a turboed motor at altitude......

The stock times are being brought up because the whole start of this thread....which the thread starter must still have been unsure about even after the spam fest preceeding it. I was hoping not all Syclone owners were like him.

I never said it wouldn't suffer more, I said I doubt its much more if any. And when was the last time you were up here at 6000' to even have a comparison? And no, I don't believe you that an SRT10 can cut that 60'. With DR's yeah but on stock tires???? No way!! Maybe its my fault because every SRT10 I have seen at the track was pretty much a worthless turd and the two or three I got to race had nothing on me and my truck is lightly modded. I could believe the 12.8 before I could believe the 1.8 60'. Your vids you posted, those could all be passes with DR's for all we know. I raced an SRT10, he took off first and I still had a car or two on him at the intersection. By the time I hit 100mph, he was still a GOOD 5-6 cars back!! Until I see proof right in front of me I will chalk it up to a myth.

FWIW, just about every SRT10 owner I have come across so far was an arrogant prick. I was really hoping you weren't like the rest of them too.

The moment there is any name calling in this thread it's getting locked.

I don't doubt for a second that an SRT10 truck could cut a 1.9x or 1.8x sixty foot time. All the SRT10 owners I've ever met have been cool.

Actually, I think '05SRT10QC' seems like a nice guy too.

Hey bro, thanks for crapping all over my video with your spam post. Way to represent a cool truck and a cool forum. Now I get to delete them all. all 20 pages of it.

Show you proof of what? I already showed you videos of stock trucks running the times. The 12.7 pass was right after this one which was a 12.9 pass http://videos.streetfire.net/video/First-pass-new-SRT10_20721.htm

People were there at the track and they saw the run, they verified it, more than one person, it isn't a conspiracy. The guy deserves props for being such a damn good driver. one of the guys who saw the 12.7 pass has run a 12.9 on a completely different day with different temps on a different truck. Others have run 12.9-13.2 at different tracks...tell you what. Tell me what you want to see proof of that I already haven't shown...Do I need to go look for timeslips of stock trucks 60ft. marks just cause you wont believe a stat that they regularly hit? A 2.0 60ft. is pretty good, a 1.9 is a proper launch how it should be, a 1.8x is what you get when you launch it perfectly on the stock tires. Everyone pretty much aims for the 1.9, if they get a 1.8 GREAT, some guys make hitting a low 1.9-high 1.8 like 1.88 or 1.89 look easy. The SRT-10 is a drivers truck, even the QC to an extent is trucky to launch, not as hard as the RC though. I'm telling you what the truck is capable of behind the wheel of a driver who can actually drive it well.

The 60 is what I can't grasp. I will admit I dont live at the track but when I do go, I pay close attention to what guys are doing. I see Turbo T/A's, Modded SS's, C5's, etc etc, that run those 60's with drag radials./ I just can't grasp how a 500hp truck with a short bed, 22" wheels and a standard trans could pull that off. I will have to keep my eyes out next time i go to the track. There were three SRT10's there last time I was there and all of them ran in the 14's, best was a 14.5. Maybe I went on the wrong day. Oh yeah, the guy who drove that truck that deserves all the props is #1. It would be nice if we got some props once in a while. Usually I get the nose in the air routine.
