i call bs on this my stock time in south florida 98 degrees is 13.2 with not shifting and traction control on.....

A little late to the game aren't you? Thats what half this thread has been about for christ sake. But just so you know, you would NOT run close to that time up here. You'd be lucky to hit high 13.

I live in South Florida and every GCSRT8 I have pulled up to doesnt even show interest in running me. My sisters boyfriend owns one maybe I should egg him on, hehe. I think my best time at IRR in the 1/8th was an 8.1-2 on the stock turbo.

you guys are clueless about the jeep,bone stock 13.2 on 20 inch run flats with a paper filter,my typhoon ran 14.2 stock..............get a grip.

I seriously do not understand the mentality of those that join a forum specific to a certain car/truck and accuse its members of being clueless while standing up for some other car/truck. Is this thread linked on an SRT forum? Are you really that thin skinned that you had to join SyTy.net because you perceived the SRT-8 to be slighted? An SRT-8 lost to a SyTy. OMG! That?s couldn?t possibly ever happen because you own one and really REALLY like them.

It would appear that this is a common trait among SRT owners. As much as I like SRT8's and 10s, I don?t think I?ll ever buy one now because I don?t want to be associated with douche bags through car choice. SRT fans are not the same as old school turbo Dodge/Shelby guys, that much is crystal clear.

I should have just bit my tongue but this sort of BS really grinds my gears. I don't troll other forums looking for stories of someone beating a SyTy or turbo Dodge. :rant:

And for the record, no, not all SRT guys practice the fine art of douchebaggery. I know that there are a couple of cool SRT guys on here. But from my few years of car forum, experience a preponderance of them do. They aren't as bad as Honda fan-boys (that is impossible), but they make a stellar effort. :tup:

He said his Typhoon ran a 14.2, so I would assume he has or does own a Ty... GC SRT-8's are knocking on 12's stock. So stock to stock they will win a Ty fight, with all else being equal. Looks like the original poster's truck has a few mods and has run 13.7s. Getting closer...

Not sure how this thread turned into a bash, since the first page looked pretty realistic.

Who would own what is an argument we have had on here many times, and pretty pointless.

Let's look at the bigger picture here:
1) You are preaching to the choir. I know what a SRT-GC will do to a stock SyTy first hand. Whatever they run, it is quicker than my 13.5. I said so in post #14.
2) This thread was dead almost a month (08-29-2008) when grocery gtr joined and posted (09-20-2008) to let us know how awesome the SRT-8 GC is and how clueless we are.
3) He may have owned one in the past, but that does not mean he isn't being a SRT-owning toolbox right now.

I like the SRT8. This is a picture of me running a 13.53 nearly stock, if you look close you see a SRT8 learkin behind me. Im posting this because while I was waiting in the pit lanes he (srt8 guy) came up to me and complimented me on my Ty. His SRT was running 12.9's with a bit of work, which he was very reluctant to difulge any info about.

All this battering does not matter. On the street the SRT-10's / SRT-8's are going to lose to a sy/ty 8 out of 10 times. With a VHT preped track and drag radials its a different story.
