im installin the jeep steering shaft, and im havin trouble gettin the upper bolt in. it seems like the piece from the fire wall is to big and wont let me thread the bolt in. any recomendations? maybe smaller diameter bolt with a nut??

thanks in advance

smaller bolt + nut...or grind a relief into the steering column nub to allow the bolt to pass

IMO this is the way to go.. That way it also prevents that joint from backing off of the shaft.

Re: steering shaft question

????? Are there different Jeep shafts?
Just put mine in Sunday and the bolt went in ok. It was just a tad tight so I used the ratchet to make it go through but it wasnt enough pressure to strip it or anything, just enough that my fingers wouldn't push it through. I thought the hole was just gummed up or something.
