Actually the block itself doesn't make any power..... it takes all those spinning thingies to make the power... ;)

sorry.... define stock block.... stock 2-bolt mains with modded upper end, completely stock motor with increased boost, etc.??

I believe Jamie Hacking got pretty deep in the 9's with a stock block do a search on his last build

Nolan's made over 1200. Dont remember if thats a bowtie block or not. Also I know Mike Lee's made over 1k dont remember specs on his either. Those are the first two "4.3 based" motors that come to mind.

When you say stock block im assuming you mean how much power will a Stock block hold up to reliabley. 500 hp be close. Now if you installed 4 bolt mains 700 hp be about it. For all out racing an not caring how long the motor stays together 800hp and your done. Of course at those levels you would need forged rods,crank, ARP studs ect. If your thinking oF seeing just how much you can make on your 75,000 + mile motor without upgradeing internals than 450hp and you be lucky if it lasted 6 months. Hope that helps.
