Can someone post a good pic of a stock balencer off there truck. I want to see the position of the keyway in regards to the TDC mark.

LOL I just pulled mine off.. it gave me an extra 50 hp :tup::roll: with 50 degrees of advance... ill sell mine for 40 :2cents:


wonder how much it would be worth to sell the metal.. ? 75 cents?

To answer your question, they are inline with each other. Which is fairly common BTW.

I just realized, and confirmed something I've never noticed before.

The keyway in the crankshaft is inline with the #1 rod throw.

So a quick check could be to remove the center bolt so the key is visible, line up the mark, and the key should appear to be in line with the center of the left bank cyl head. Or with the #1 spark plug removed, the piston should be at TDC.

good call dave. this should make it easy to identify slipped balancers, sweet

Is the keyway pointing up directly to the tdc 0 mark? If not does anybody have measurments so i can see if my balancer spun. :tup:

Your answer is in posting #10. Look at the picture, it is off by about 15*.
