I'd wager that truck is making mid 300's for horsepower. I think the stock heads can be pushed into the low 400's with a lot of work, but even L35 heads are a better alternative

Ah, I see. It seems to me that a lot of people upgrade or modify their heads before they upgrade other stuff because the heads are a pretty weak link in the setup. As I said, I think they can be pushed a little over 400 if you port them and so on... the 11.94 was set by a truck with stock heads... never even been opened up

GN's can't compare... they had a much better engine to start with. I'm just speaking from what I've seen

He said he dynoed it & made 320 HP, Mine made 386 HP & 550 FT lbs torque. Completely 100% stock long block.

i have seen a stock headed truck make over 500rwhp and runs 10s.. big turbo, with some work to the factory castings.. but you have to ask yourself why? unported vortecs will flow and make more power then a decently set up set of stock LB4's or L35s.

this car (when you seen, over 500 hp) on that moment had a STOCK or VORTEC heads ?
(i know - the Vortec heads is better, than stocks)
what flow stock heads? (.500 and .600 lift)
190-195 ?

You keep forgeting to tell everyone he only made 16-17psi of boost on those runs since that Dyno couldn't load a turbo motor properly to make full boost (which BTW, last I hear was in the low 20's of the street, and high 20's at the track).
I bet that his truck is near 400hp or so +/- some depending on whose ET/Trap speed calculator you use.

stock heads, like i mentioned. just ported/polished.
And no it doesnt take 750hp to run 10s. A truck making 500-525 rwhp or approx 600 fly wheel hp will run ~126-128mph in the quarter, which with a good 60ft will net you solid in the 10s.

Turbo 6 did 10.9 with a small shot of N2O and 11.1 without on a 100% stock short block. You can go fast on stock heads, but its more of going fast despite the heads/cam limitations. It would be something I recommend if rebuild a motor.
