So sunday morning between the hours of 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. some smartass decided they wanted to break into my truck and steal my newly installed sound system, all new of about 4 months ago. I'm pretty sure they knew what they were looking for and must have scoped out the truck before, and I am sure that they followed me home the night they decided to spend 2 minutes of their time theiving all of my work I spent 2 months installing. They jimmied open the driver side door, unlocked the passenger, and moved their way to the back where they stole my alpine 12's, the dual folded horn box, and attemped a shot at the amp, which was luckily screwed in. they ripped the carpeting but must not have had a screwdriver, for thankfully it's still there. They messed with the capacitor but probably didn't know what the hell it was so left it alone, and stole my CD deck instead, ripping out the remote turn on wire, for lack of tools I'm sure. They ripped my sat. radio out of the window but left it dangling, and moved my CD's to the front seat but left them as well (about $2,000 worth). All in all they got away with about $1,400 worth of my system, and left me wondering what just happened to my truck. I'm pretty sure they must have been white (not to be racist or anything) because If it were mexicans or indians they would have been smart enough to bring at least, a screwdriver and to take the CD's. Also, that's all they took...there was also a truck, a corvette, and a honda sitting in the driveway, all unlocked...my truck was the only one locked. nothing was even touched in them, and I guess from what I have been informed, there was a wallet sitting in the driver seat of the honda, with $400 in cash just sitting in it, which hadn't been touched either. It seemed very ametuer and unprofessional, so it could be very easy to track, or just a pain in the ass. I filed a police report, and also turned it into my insurance but I know the cops wont do much, and I am hoping my insurance will cover at least some of the loss. By the way, this crime happened at my house, in my own driveway, and yeah, the truck was locked. unfortunately, no alarm system though
it will be my next investment for sure before I ever think about putting another sound system in. I hate theifs, like they cant afford their own, because it's easier to steal mine I guess...ugh.
