well the ****ed up doing the stripping so the frame has to be dipped again, so basically all the work i have done for the last fewq months gets to come back off . But this way i can do a new rear suspension and remove all the holes and redo all the factory welds

So i am not the only one that thought the factory frame welds looked like they were done by a 3rd grader .

No youre not the only one. Doing the coil over install last week I bet I spent 3 or 4 hrs on just knocking the really bad buggers off the welds. Didnt do any real weld grinding just knocking off the extra wire and welding turds the factory sprinkled along the frame just in the front suspension area  .

Re: stripping the frame again

I wish I could, the shitty part is the chassis was 99% done I was plumbing the brake system then it ws off to have a fuel cell made and I could start the body. This is porbably a 2-3 month set back

DAQ...

How long would it take a fairly talented person w/ all the correct tools to take a Sy down to the frame and put it back together?

100 hrs?

I'd love to get it nice one time just to make it less of a chore to work on.

Re: stripping the frame again

Depends i probably have 40 hours labor right now alot of the delay is waiting on other people. The dipping of the frame was 5 weeks, and I wen alot father then needed Like haing all the welds on the rear diff redont to make the pretty, powdercoating everything, and everybolt replaced, havesome pieces cadimum plated theres tons of time waiting for suppliers to do serviced if you wernt as picky as me and were willing to reuse alot of stuff, and had a good size shop and a helper you could strip to bare frame in 1 day

Re: stripping the frame again

You are reminding me of changing my typhoon frame. Had another here ready to go, blasted, painted, then noticed it was for a 4 door. Was not happy.

Sorry to hear about the backwards movement. Want to trade for 5 stiches in the thumb?
