Re: Stumbling Syclone

So unplug vac hose from FPR, plug hose into tire pump, right? So if it raises it, the FPR is bad, if not its good correct? Not to seem like a dumbass just making sure I don't misunderstand anything. Thanks!

Re: Stumbling Syclone

Eh atleast vatozone is gonna swap me out. If it happens again I'll order a walboro equivalent. You guys ever buy stuff from zzperformance? They make parts for grand prixs, grand ams, v6 camaros etc. but I figure I just order one from them if needed. I think they were about 90 bucks when the walboro was about 250.

If your buying parts from autozone, you may have the wrong spark plugs as well.

Could be, I don't see why a brand new pump woul go bad, but it's happened before.

You understand what I meant? It could be a low pressure (tbi) pump instead of a high pressure pump (port injected). The low pressure will not rise much over 20 psi. On the contrary, a high pressure pump in a TBI application won't make much less than 20 psi. I am not implying the new pump is bad (although it could be). Don't go back in and just swap pumps out!

Re: Stumbling Syclone

I made sure I got the UR6 plugs. Ok when I go back in I will make sure they're getting me the right pump. Thanks for the heads up on that!

Re: Stumbling Syclone

are u kidding me ?? putting a autozone fuel pump in your truck is like running low test in a top fuel dragster !!
please spend a few extra dollars and order a genuine walbro pump from a well known vendor. i.e. ... race proven motors , racetronix . or you'll be putting a in a new engine in shortly ! would you put a autozone pump in a subaru sti if you owned one ??? hell no you wouldn't !!

Peh... I'd be more upset that they gave me the wrong pump. I've seen other people here run the stock with now problems on a stock truck. I'm actually betting that the one from AZ/O'Reillys/NAPA is better than what GM used originally. Walbro is a must (IMHO) once you start getting the engine past it's stock boundaries.

Re: Stumbling Syclone

I wouldn't own a Subi lol!! Honestly I don't see myself pushing this thing too much, I just want get it right. I will probably sell it, and get a turbo kit for my Firehawk. But I may keep it, hell I grew up in it lol, my stepdad bought it new. But damn that Firehawk would be soo sick with a turbo kit!!

Re: Stumbling Syclone

Ratchet strapped the bed to the garage rafters to lift bed off for fuel sending unit access. Got the old assy out and took it up, explained to them their computer is wrong and ordered a new assy for a 94 4.3, to play the waiting game again lol, assy comes in the 10th.

Re: Stumbling Syclone

Installed new pump last night and voila!! Thanks for the info on the correct pump to get!! Had a bit of a snag though. The pigtail ends were both female, luckily I have a spare 3.8 camaro wiring harness that happened to use the same type of plug, spliced it in and she's good!! :)

Re: Stumbling Syclone

I am glad it worked out (getting a pump that works I mean). Sucks that you had to go through a double install though.

Re: Stumbling Syclone

Yeah but hey atleast I learned something, next time I have an early model fuel injected. While that needs a pump to the check te flow rate. And the 2nd time took maybe an hour and a half, lifting the bed off with ratchet straps.
