Well went and put a down payment on her tonight, gotta get some space free'd up around here before she can come home.

first syclone i've ever seen in person, and i'm considering this my first syty since my real first truck didn't count

needs some clean up and some assembly required, like legos all over again, but way bigger and more of a biotch

build progress to follow arrival home, pics in the current owners shop, enjoy

Cool project truck with what looks like already plenty of aftermarket goodies. Coilovers (yum), rear disc conversion, headers, AC delete, caltracs, solid mounts.... fun stuff.

One word of caution on those flex-a-forms, they are known for cracking and I usually read more problems with them after a truck has been sitting for a long time with them in.

Get her back together

yeah....me, i wouldnt trust them. fiberglass does weird shit over time, one of which it becomes brittle. If its sat for that long and the leafs havent flexed and just have sat there under the load of the truck, Id be scared to do any serious driving on them. I believe Sean Morris had flex-a-forms on his sy and it sat in the air for a few years. He finally put it on the ground and one of the leafs just shattered under the weight of the truck.

Looks like a fun project! How long you lookin at before you get it driveable?

Well i hope to have a couple other projects sold within the next month, so hopefully it will come home by march 20, and once i get the charge pipes remade, the new OEM fuel tank, a 3bar map and a weekend maybe 2 and she should be ready for a road test. a nice buff and wax and she'll be ready to cruise around town.

Re: Sy # 2047

brought it home today, i suck at being a photographer, never think of taking pics til it's all over and done with. hoping to start putting it together maybe mid next week since i'm busy first couple days.

it may not get together as quickly as i planned since i no longer have a shop to work in and my garage has a gravel floor so jacking up is kinda out of the question for now.

Big thanks to elliot and dustin for coming down and helping get it loaded and unloaded and hauling all the extra crap.

Congrats, go slow and have fun putting it together! If yours is anything like mine, you'll get used to taking it apart and it won't seem so much fun anymore. Cool!

Re: Sy # 2047

looks like a good start. put it back together, get some matching wheels and you are set. whats the turbo going to be?

Re: Sy # 2047

i haven't looked up the specs on the turbo the truck came with but i know it's an "innovative" ball bearing 60 trim, i'll run it for now and see what it does, if nothing else i'll go bigger later.

on a side note i'm trying to pull the dual fuel pump setup out of the old typhoon tank to put it in the syclone tank but i was having trouble figuring out how it comes apart to come out??

i would assume you have to separate the pumps before they will come out, does anyone have the destructions on how it goes together?

Re: Sy # 2047

yea everyone in the NW emailed this guy about about buying it.

oh well i got a good deal. got the dual fuel pumps out although kinda damaged one, so i'll have to get a new one, sucks but i had no idea how it was supposed to come out.

does anyone know if there is any adjustment in the solid mounts like mine has? dunno what brand they are but i noticed the mounts are not tight and i don't want to tighten them down til i know if the holes are just holes or if they are oblong for front to back adjustment.

i suppose i better put the CF driveline in first and if it has plenty of yoke then i'll tighten down the mounts and get underway.

Re: Sy # 2047

the syclone has a rear disc conversion but has no e-brake cables. and i have no idea what conversion he used or who he got it from.

all i know is he said it came from a camaro.

since the camaro's came with a 10 bolt and so did our trucks i would think that it couldn't be to awful hard to get it converted or figured out

i never really saw anyone ask or tell so i will ask, the camaro ebrake cables will not work with the camaro brakes, if installed on our rearend?

i should be going to the junk yard in the next couple of days and i'll see if there are any out there i can take to see if it will work.

if nothing else i may just swap out rear ends for my stocker temporarily so i can atleast have a working ebrake..need that alot more than rear disc on a truck that doesn't drive

Re: Sy # 2047

did you have this sy on craigs list not to long ago? I saw these pics but in the day on their for one and tryed to email the person to buy it but their email wouldnt accept mine for some reson. do you have aol as you email?

Re: Sy # 2047

i got it from the guy who had it on craigs.

on another topic, so i was wondering wouldn't the ebrake cables from an s10 or blazer that came with disc in the rear work with the camaro brake setup

Re: Sy # 2047

Been a while since i updated this thread

well the truck is temporarily back on the ground.

i did
new rear axle seals and checked out the rear end gears
cleaned up the F-body camaro brakes and installed the ebrake hardware minus cables
New poly cab mounts
new motor mounts
new poly control arm bushings
new moog ball joints
had the front diff rebuilt
cleaned up and painted the control arms
new poly sway bar bushings
set the 18'' mags on it
set the core support on
mounted the turbo
did some reworking on the cross over tubes
started rebuilding the previously damaged intercooler
new GM heater core
added A/C box back onto the firewall
cleaned up the engine bay a bit.

the only torsion bars i had are 4dr s10 blazer and this is all the way adjusted down, i hope with ty torsion bars and some bell tech drop keys it will give it a better lower height.

the rear also needs to come down some as well.

still have alot left to do, but it's come a long way since i got it
