JRoy,
Sorry to hear about your truck/motor. I just heard about it last night (that sucks). Texted a member here for a bowtie block for your truck however it is the old style unit (stock crank won't work) along with a chit ton of other stuff. PM me your number if you would like to talk over options for the next build as I might be able to give some advice or guidance to help you not make the same mistakes that I have made in the past.

J Roy,
Forgot to ask is it broke bad or just a small repair? My small motor was still running even though I split/cracked a cylinder.

Wow. I guess 24-25 is max on a Stock bottom end . I just got a 6262 gen1 turbo and slapped it on and it feels like another truck . Stock converter and stock Tranny are working perfect at 18lbs of boost. Gonna hit the 1/8 mile track tomorrow for some times. All I know is it felt better at 16psi then my little rpm stage 1 at 22psi. And it leaves just as hard even on the stock converter . Your experience scares me because I’m on stock bottom end as well. I don’t think I’m gonna turn it up past 23 just to be on the safe side . But your right breaking stuff is part of racing . I’ve been lucky I’ve never blown a motor even though I’ve sprayed nitrous on all the cars I’ve had .

Your 700r4 and stock converter will give up long before the motor. This motor made a bunch of passes at these power levels, I ran it hard. I run e85 and have a 6266 and ran 11.0 on 20psi and 20 degrees of timing. It's pretty happy at that level. I'm also revving this one pretty high compared to stock, it blew at about 5800-5900rpm.

If I repair the truck I will move to a SBC most likely, I was trying to chase Sean Krupa's stock bottom end record so I was pushing things pretty good. I have zero interest in putting any more money into a 4.3, but if I did put another v6 in, it'll just be to get it running so its easier to sell, which will mean as dirt cheap as possible.

Yesterday after work I mustered up the motivation to compression test it, but that's all I've done.
2 cylinders with no compression
3 more with almost no compression.
All cylinders wet and a bunch of coolant in the oil.
One cylinder flattened the spark plug strap against the electrode.
She broke in pretty glorious fashion.

Ya , saw your in car video and saw your Rpms going over the 5500 mark and I thought that was pretty high as well. I have a 415 cam in mine and it feels like it stops making power right at about 5300-5500. I’ll be holding it in gear till that rpm. I also have a smaller exhaust housing so that might be the case too. Anyway I think that in cooler weather you would of beat the record . All you needed was 2 tenths . Again Thanks for posting your results to help out everyone else figure out their combinations

Sir,
Roger that as I know how frustrating breaking parts can be. Let me know if I can help you in any way or need anything.

Sir,
After watching the video. It appears to maybe have broke /clip a piston or punched out the heads gaskets. On the flip side it could have split the block as I cracked a cylinder (4) at about the same power level that you was at. Curious to see what you find that let loose.

Really it was just in the 60ft. I had too much in it on the launch and damn near went 1.7 to the 60. My usual low 1.5 would've gotten me closer.

I realized I never mentioned, but found a giant hole in a cylinder.

I have since sold the truck to a friend of mine that already has a couple other syty, letting him take over where I left off.
