my abs light goes on/off intermittently. I believe its a false reading from a wheel speed sensor. Anyone know procedure on testing which one it is?

There is a procedure with the aldl port and a paper clip but I can't remember i've had my abs deleted for years now. Do a search for it or try www.syty.org/old maybe it's on there somewhere

How much weight is saved by removing the stock POS ABS unit, bracket, etc.? My Anti-Lock light is back on for no good reason and I'm thinking of just yanking it out. Anyone have a link to the procedure?

Buy the abs delete kit and swing by my house. Prety easy. I would guess it saves about 20lbs. I have not weighed my abs yet.

You can pull the rotors off and clean the sensors...sometimes that will fix it,


If you drive it on the street or it might see rain your probably going to be better off with working ABS.

Locking up any wheel when it is wet or during trail braking sucks but, if you lock one or both of your front tires it can be dangerous.

Besides,
Only when stopping in a straight line on dry pavement will you stop quicker without ABS and that is only if you modulate the brakes correctly.

Personally I am making every effort to keep my ABS working.

Last time this happened, I had to bleed the brakes three times to clear the codes. I think I'm going to bleed it again and see if that will fix it. Otherwise, it's coming out.

It weights a whopping 18.2 pounds.

To put things in perspective, the roll pan weights 15.5 pounds...
