Syclone Control Arm

Ok, here is the story...

I have been working on my Syclone to bring it back to OE condition. I finished the rear-end, now I'm working on the front-end...I found a place that can order me upper and lower control arms at a decent price except the right upper. I guess they are permanently out of stock...

So, does anyone know of a good place to purchase control arms? At this point all I would need is the RIGHT UPPER but if anyone knows of a place that can beat the prices I have found, that would be awesome!

The prices I got were:

Upper CA--$118
Lower CA--$138

Thanks!!

Are your original rusty or damaged? I would rather have cleaned original with good bushings and moog ball joints rather than new ones.

Re: Syclone Control Arm

plenty of people have gone to coil overs and tube a-arms. you could get some froma member and powder-coat themor paint them for really cheap, like $50 bucks

Re: Syclone Control Arm

Yeah I wanted to just sandblast them but 1 is rotted straight through. The other one is close to that as well...at this point it's so bad that one of the control arms folded on itself while I left the truck parked! Ha!

Where is the best place to get a coilover kit? Would that be the best way to go?...

Dennis, "Crazykaese" has a complete set with poly bushings in them for $100 bucks I think. Shoot him a PM or check the for sale sectionn he still had them listed as of last night.

I think RPM is the only one who sells a the kit with control arms

Turbotime sells a budget kit that reuses the stock control arms

Turbotime sells coilovers that don't come with any extra parts, but you have to do some cutting

RPM does sells arms, but $1000/set, and they keep the same ball joint angle as stock, which sucks if you're lowered:tdown:

Re: Syclone Control Arm

i took my coil overs off and replaced the whole front end with s10 blazer stuff, they are the exact same. also went with new ball joints and bushings. i think total from summit was about $300.

i removed my coilovers due to needing the money for other things.

i'm sure you could get em at the junk yard for 50 bucks for all 4. i know i could at least

I found a complete front-end rebuild from this site:

Would that be the way to go?

Re: Syclone Control Arm

I have power powerformance balljoints on my blazer and those things are bullet proof. Side to sides, hopping etc... I used to go through ball joints in less than 6 months and I've had those for over 3 years

i went with Moog upper and lower ball joints and energy supsension bushings, have not gotten them on the truck as of yet.

total price from summit to my door was roughly $300

i see this kit is for tie rod ends and pitman arms, add the ball joints and the same bushings i have and the total is $518. i didn't need to do tie rod ends and pitman arms so maybe what you should do is compare prices between this company and summit. Moog has been around for years and years so they aren't bad at all.

let us know what you decide to do and total
