Syclone engine rebuild 56k stay out

since i got a sy with bad compression i figured i would rebuild it and do some updates.

just back from the shop

new internals, heads, freeze plugs

as the sy sits

engine bay ready for some paint of the frame rails

belltech sway bars

new paint

water pump and driver side header installed

pass side header installed with turbo

put away for the night

NOW YOUR TALKIN!! I just piced up a SY today and ill be on vacation for 2 weeks !! You better be done installing that engine by the time i get back. Its go time stocker on stocker.

how soon you need it done i am doing the sy now and the 92tys motor is at the shop now and i should have it back soon. i may be able to fit it in between the two. is it drivable to bring here?

frank you are on i hope to have it done this coming week i am most likely going to send the injectors out to be flowed to make sure they are good monday i should have them back by the weekend. depending on the holiday.

yeah but i used new ones. plan is to dd it to break it in and then sell it and all the other tys as well.

did a little more today but broke something in the process, damn fuel line, does anyone know if this can be changed with the motor in? i would hate to pull this thing back out. also the stupid adp i can not find anywhere "the one for the coolant line to the block. anyone have any extra?
anyway here are some pics.

Not sure, but it will be tough. Perhaps lower the rear of trans (remove trans crossmember)? This part may prove tough to find. Perhaps braided line sweged to the original end fittings?? Would also be easier to install with trans in place.

This is a standard part. NAPA should have it. 1/4"MPT (male pipe thread)X 3/8" 45deg inverted flare. Double-check me on the 3/8" part. Measure the O.D. of the tubing. If it's 3/8", I'm correct. Might be 1/2" though.

GM still sells them, got mine like year ago was like 50 bucks or so. LMC most likely has them too but getting it in with out motor is best it is a bitch otherwise, car has to be up up in the air.

LMC 75 for OE and 99 for stainless 29-3056 or 29-3084

that sucks to hear but that is why i left the motor mount bolts out. even left the chain on there.

i know the coolant line is 3/8 but i could not get any other size to fit in the block. although the oil feed adapter is the right size male that goes into the turbo.
i guess i will check the dealer on friday, sucks wanted to get it running this weekend.

the adapter is discontinued and can not be got through the special dealer places. the line is discontinued as well but the special places may have them in stock. this sucks.

did some more work sat to cold to finish today i will do more this week. almost there to get up and running. o so close. just have to do the upper and lower ic, plug wires, set timing, get the down pipe on, install the new front and resr bell tech sway bars and take it for a drive.

want to say big thanks to erue for finding a extra turbo coolant adapter fore the block and shipping it to me asap.
