When my truck is not in the shop I mostly just get compliments, and people hanging out of their windows begging me to get on it at the next light. From my friends and people that know me I get the, "Dude why don't you just sell that thing and get a new car?" I tell them, "Because then when people ask what I drive, then I wouldn't have to explain it every time." I think a part of why we love these trucks is because they are so rare. Not like a mustang or camaro that there are still hundreds of thousands in the country. In another words, "I like my truck because you don't have one, and you don't know anyone that has one." :squint:

Almost forgot, one kid with a Cobalt SS, pretty much stock, was talking shit over the winter while my truck was in storage. :rant: I can't wait for another 2 weeks or so when I get her all done and I can see his ass on the road.

another thing I had forgot to mention was that everywhere I go I get a lot of respect from a lot of people, even the Ford and Honda guys that hate GM. Even the guy that compares the Ty to an astro van knows they can be quick and just does it to pick on me. I just love the look of awe in peoples faces as I roll by them.

I show typhoons and sy's nothing but respect.....

I want to run a bone stock one while I'm on the bottle, I've only run across one and he didn't want to do it....said he only drove it now and then and was trying not to break it....I understand any mods done and I don't think it'd be a race though.....

That is so true, the most common misconception I see is "isnt that thing supercharged" or "I didnt know they were AWD", yeh thats why you'll loose!!

yeah i dont know mine looks like a POS and still i get nothing but complements...i was driving next to one kid in a blazer that was all pimped out and hes like dude is it fast and nail it and take off he catches up to me when i let off and hes like you can have my truck and ill give you more cash for it ...im like no thanks...and hes like but i have leather in mine...im like haha so do I...

I was at the auto parts store yesterday whan this guy walked in and asked if that was my GMC in the parking lot.I said yeah and he asked if it was a Typhoon or a Syclone.Then he said "Those things are twin-turbo,right?"

Then when I left I saw them and a couple of the parts chasing monkeys standing in the doorway watching me pull out onto the road. :tup:

last time i was at the part store and the same shit happened to me some kid with a pos eclipse was asking me where i got the typhoon stickers...and when i left of couse i had to
show of...it was a little wet and i had the phoon sideways scary stuff

No.....and thats me having a blazer, imagine you having a typhoon/syclone one of the rarer production vehicles...people take notice....I know where the turbo vette in town is hiding cause he popped the hood for us and I saw that vette one day going to my buddies' house when he had the garage door open....lol, people recognize all other peoples' vehicles in one way or another....they're one of the biggest things you notice about a person....

Although you're starting to slack, I only saw 4 there this weekend. We need to get Will's and Jeremy's over there at the same time, as well as that other guy with the red one......Have like a Sy/Ty mini-meet with almost 10 trucks!!!!

I had the Sy in a local car-show last father's day. It's a pretty big show with all sorts of cars from classics to muscle to 4x4s and modern stuff.

Anyway I was grabbing something from the truck and a couple guys walk up, one of them says "I didnt think they made the Xtremes in this body-style" I replied with "well they didnt, this is a Syclone" "Oh, oh really? Those things have the GN motor dont they?" I pretty much rolled my eyes and explained a few things to them, then left so I didnt have to hear any more idiots talking about shat they dont know anything about. Like the guy at another show I was at, I overheard him say to his buddy as they walked by, "thats a Syclone! It's got the Camaro motor in it"

I was going to create a thread about this but since this one already exists I'll put it here.

I was on my way home from work yesterday on the freeway and some dude in a 2006 Vette pulls up next to me and points at the Ty and gives me the thumbs up. I waved and he blasted off down I-5.

I had a big ass smile the rest of the way home because he knew what the Ty was and respected it.
