I seem to get more looks out of vette owners then anything else. God the appriciative nod yesterday from a C6 owner here in town, kinda gives ya a warm feeling inside dont it? lol

I'm the only GM guy at work, everyone else drives Fords, so I used to hear it all the time.

One of my co-workers, Tim, has a 99 Lightning and the guys wanted us to race so he could teach me a lesson. Tim would just tell the other guys "I might be crazy, but I'm not stupid"

My sister has had her 05 Mustang GT stored at my house for the last 3 months due to moving and asked me to drive it some to keep the battery charged up. So I took it to work one day and everyone was in shock because I'm driving a Ford.

After the 4th time of taking it to work once a week and them giving me a hard time about it, (I kept my mouth shut) one of my co-workers asked in a group meeting (there are 18 of us at this location) "why are you driving a Ford once a week?" To which I replied, "because every once in awhile I have to drive something slow, just to remind me why I won't buy one (meaning Ford)

Last week Tim went out and picked up a 06 Saleen S281 SC Coupe with the 5 speed, so its just a matter of time before they start again trying to get us to race, but with 435hp I will pass on this one. He only spent $55,000 to beat my $11,000

.

When this challenge comes, I'll still pass on it, but only in the name of legality. I don't want to lose the truck. A lot of the cops out here are more than happy to impound cars.

Does anyone know how these cars run up against our trucks? I'm just assuming I'd lose. How much would it take to blow him away?

The last saleens were slower than the supercharged cobras and my sy ate those up(the cobras) with only free mods and a johnson pump. Race him in the 1/8 mile :tup:

depends on whats done to you're sy , but i think there well into the 12's...i heard the 0-60 sucks though! race him from a dig!

That's all the static I?ve gotten. And they were just sore because I decimated them from a dig and a roll. Everyone else, even those who got spanked unwittingly, has really dug my truck.

SyTy's, for all their quirks and temperaments, are just too quick and rare to talk trash about.

I owned my truck less than 72 hours when I went to NAPA Autoparts to buy new wiper blades and a K&N airfilter for it. It is my turn at the parts counter so I tell the clerk what I want and there was a guy standing next to me at the counter just BS with the sales clerk. The conversation went like this:

Them, "ah, you have a Syclone. They don't make them anymore."
Me, "yea, they stopped in 92."
Them, "they originally were going to put a 350 in it. Too bad they didn't put a 350 in it. It would have been sooooooo much better with a 350."
Me, "they didn't have to put a 350 in it. The turbo V6 in it has more power than the 350 LT1."
Them, "but it doesn't have as much torque as a V8."
Me, "do you know how much torque it has?"
Them, "I don't know the numbers but I know that truck."
Me, "tell me anything about the Syclone then?"
Them, "I'm not a numbers guy."
Me, "you don't know anything about the Syclone?"
Them, "I know a lot about it. What's there to know if it don't have 800 hp?"
Me, "you don't know anything about it then."
Them, "it isn't like the Grand National. That turbo 3.8 was a damn good engine. Too bad they don't make them anymore."
Me, "you do know that the same people who made the GN also made the Syclone right? They are very similar setups."
Them, "Yea, but the GNs 231s were better."


I grabbed my parts and just left.

Ohh man. I hate that kinda stuff. Shoulda left the parts on the counter and gotten them elsewhere.
