SyTy white face gauge cluster decal information

Up for sale is a SY/TY OEM white face gauge cluster, this was a special order upgrade that very few SY/TY came with. the gauge cluster is in great condtion. it reads 57,xxx mile on it. Please keep in mind this is not an after market gauge overlay, this is a true GM white face gauge cluster...$250 shipped

Not trying to start anything or discounting your claim, but do you have you got documented proof and can you show us how/where this was "special order"? In the 13 years Ive been around SyTy, this is the first time Ive ever heard this claim of an OEM whiteface gauge cluster... where white face gauges even produced in 1991?

The 92 Ty I purchased has the exact same gauge cluster. It must have been an option in 1992 as well. It also has chrome ZR1 wheels which could have been an option too, huh? Just guessing.....

If Phoontang and DaveP passes, I am interested in buying it.

I think they are these. Note they are not "overlays" They are faces.

Now that I look at it again, and see T-bones post I don't think they are speedhut. The Ty he just purchased, (that I spent 6 hours inspecting before rejecting it for my purposes, so I know what it has), has IndiGlo Gauges. They have a different look, and appear more like the one in the pic above.

I agree.....his cluster face looks close to the one in this link:

Definately makes it an option but NOT a OEM option .

Those faces and the ones that Morgan posted are "NR auto accessories"

I have a new in box set right in front of me I bought years ago and never installed.

You find that in writing for me....cause no, it wasnt. I'll eat my words if I am proven wrong.

Morgan gets the SyTy bucks. He found them as faces only.

That "CBD" is a broadcast code. The GM line workers uses those codes to know which cluster to install in the truck they're working on. Any deviations in configuration will require a different broadcast code.

So, all it takes to dispel this white-face cluster as being "OEM option" is for another peep to find the same CBD on a stock-face cluster. Which I think can be done. I don't remember the code off hand, and don't own any loose clusters that I can look at. But 15 years around SyTy, I'm positive any white-face is not "OEM".

The pics on SyTyArchives is that of Ian Turgeon's truck. Those are speedhut gauge faces...it says it right there in the beginning of the write up.


Dave is correct. white-face is NOT OEM. Sorry...

Also, just to add (more for Dave's benefit), im looking at my SGT cluster, and the decal (which is blue) on the side of it has:

610 (big type)
25064610 (small type)
NOS or N0S - Looks like a zero, could be an "O"? (big type)

I'll get this thread cleaned up, but I just want to go ahead and post this one last bit of information.

This comes DIRECTLY from a PAS/GM representative whom I just spoke with and would know better than ANYONE on here:

"There were NO gauge options for any of our vehicles."


So just_a_6, please edit your post accordingly that what you have is NOT original OEM white face gauges but aftermarket white face overlays applied to an OEM gauge cluster.

Once you do that, this thread will be cleaned up.

When I bought my sy it had those gauge overlays and the former owner told me he put them on so I know for sure mine are not original.

I also threw those in the garbage a couple yrs ago because they turned yellowish even with dark tinted windows! They were a big pain to remove also :tdown:

I have three Turbo Sunbird clusters. The early one is MPF 25085415. Also has another sticker with 0657.
The later style ones are both MPW 25085338. Day shift 207 on one, night shift 22 with 0300 on another sticker on the other.
