tach and speedo stopped working

My tack and speedo stopped working on my ty the same time my oil filter line started leaking. Im wondering if the oil possibly leaked on a sensor or something and caused them to stop working. If i drive the car they sometimes come back on for periods of time.

how do i find out whats wrong with my tach and speedo and where is it located??? thanks

the tach and speedo are totally unrelated....I would check all fuses and look maybe at the fusable links under the hood...next I would check to make sure the dash is making good contact with the wiring harness.....

do the rest of the gauges work?.....how about the trip and odometer?

im not sure about the odometer but the other guages work fine. The low turbo coolant light is on (kinda dim) also when the two guages dont work. And if the two guages decide to come back on (exact same times) the light shuts off.

the only time ive ever seen the low turbo coolent light on is when i blew a fuse so id check your fuses

Check your computer box under the passenger side dash. My speedo was not working after my heater core install and I had missed one of the wire harness plugs (duh). That fixed it.

if it was a blown fuse, a short, or a wire pulled off my computer then the tack and speedo wouldn't work at all. There coming on whenever they feel like it and im not sure why?

I had a problem with my speedo and tach, it turn out that when the engine was out the wiring harness got rerouted between the fuel line and the fire wall, I dah to climb up on the engine and smush my head up against the hood and follow the harness to find this problem, Had been chasing this problem at least a year. Bill
