Texas Syty Meet October 22 Saturday..

I think it's about time to plan an official Syty meet in Texas.
Let's start planning on a good date when we expect the weather to be cooler. I would like to have it at Seguin (San Antonio) where the track has been good to me.
Maybe invite the Ferd Lightning's & SRT's for a little racing.

Anybody interested?

I'm down...Track sounds good but how about a wrench session/dinner/hangout Austin meet some time? You know as well as I do that Jim Volz's full blown shop is ours anytime....Remember he has air, tools and a new lift.....If it's on a Saturday we could finish off the day by raiding the 1431 gathering.....you should edit in a poll to see what everybody else would like to see or do....Austin or San Antonio?

Bone Daddy's then Home Depot sound good to me...for anyone that hasn't been to Bone Daddy's, it blows Hooters away....Looks like October 1'st and 8'th are the first two Saturdays of the month....How does the 1st sound ? Any desire to wrench on any trucks that day? Or just eat then show off the trucks? We don't have to have a hardcore wrench session....No frame-off resto's, just maybe small basic maintainance/tuneup stuff and some detailing while some of the other guys drive on in..... Austin seems to be the most centrally located city in texas....It gives the Dallas guys a chance to get down as well....Houston is just a short drive away.....Be sure to give Al a heads up on whatever date you decide on....Is Daron the only official syty'er in SA? I'm the only one in my town so far....what about Houston? I know Erik will be down....Who else could you drag down Erik? Dallas Fort Worth area? Who else is out there? Rick Nolan?

I could probably convince Jack and Abe, Im sure Trey will come in his slow ZR1. I think inviting SRT's and L's are probably a bad idea. Lets just have a good time of some talking bullshit about the trucks, introduce some new face's, Jack and Abe. And have a good time racing eachother. San Antonio raceway is very nice and we can take on whomever show's that night. should be some pretty quick Sy's considering Daron's, Servando's and Bruce's if he can get a tranny. My two cents is do it on a weekend, begining friday night maybe at the strip or someone's house. Saturday more strip and a cruise, BBQ or street race scene? Sunday? i dont know, lets do somthing. There is a 1/8th mile track here and a 1/4 mile track that is NHRA very nice and fast. and considering how close it is to sea level. I can host everyone at my house if everyone decides they want to go to Houston. Im down for whatever as long as it's on a weekend because i dont work weekends. Having it in Houston might also atract peeps from Dallas. about 4 hours away.

School starts next monday, but I''m still unemployed as of yet so weekends are great for me. Just say when and I'll drive down. September or October would be fine and being close to north Dallas puts Austin, San Antonio, and Houston all within reach. I'll see if I can get ahold of Bill Go too. He's the other new SyTy owner up here close to me. I think I've still got his number. :tup:

i could probably make it for a cruise in and dinner in october. now the wrenching session i'm not sure about, cause it'll have to be a family outing for me

I dont live in TX yet, but will be down around Thanksgiving.

On October 22nd the San Antonio Raceway will be having there Midnight Madness runs.
The racing begins at 8pm until 2am (cooler weather).We could still meet in Austin and if anyone wants to run afterwords to the track later that night.

Hey ....you have plenty of time between now and then to get a Saturday and Sunday off man...You'll have a place to stay and you can ride with me while you're here .....Just get on the plane, we'll take care of the rest....

Hah! Won't Barb love that... The day before her B-day. Gonna have to cash in some kitchen passes. I wonder if we can convince Jeff Scott to make it down ? He has something of mine that would make a meet that much more fun.

My fellow Texans, Servando, Daron and myself will be at the Seguin track tonight for a little recon. I know this is a little short notice but if anyone else could make it. The tracks opens at 9pm until 2am.
We will be in the Typhoons.

Just look for the crowd of ladies gathered around my pimpatude...

Man I don't know about going to the track that night, it is a pretty long drive from Austin for you guys. I know that Servnado & Daron will go cause it is on there way home. Either way I will be going for that long over due 10.99 sec run.:lol:

I'm in (so far). My schedule changes minute to minute but if I'm in the states, I'll most likely be able to make an appearance. Hopefully, I'll have my Ty done by then. Ironing out the motor issues, need to hook up and tune the akly, parts piled up for coilovers and brakes just waiting for opportunity to get it done. Interior should get done this week. Glass is happening next week but not sure what to do about cladding. Would look goofy showing up without it. If I run out of time, we'll just bring the red Ty. Not much a challenge for those who have mods but its clean (and its hers). Looking forward to getting my wife involved and meeting some more of you wierd truck creeps. Dont think it will be an issue so longs shes not the only woman there. You older folks know what I mean.

No sweat. I wont worry bout asthetics as long as I'm not the only one with a tired looking truck. lol. I'll bring my 90k mile prop shaft if you need it, Garry. You can have it.
