The Jeff Scott Thread on nats

Although the truck count has gotten smaller once again, the fun factor at nats has not changed. I suspect the actualy people count hasn't changed much either. As always it was a great time and great people.

For me this year was a little different. My dad was able to fly in and attend with me and see how crazy of event it is. He did go to Great Bend nats before but this is his first in KC.

Wednesday when he arrived I had waited to start my typhoon until he got there. Being I live 2500 miles away him and I don't get to spend a lot of time toghether it was worth the wait. He was the person that really got me into the car hobby and taught me a lot of what I know about cars and life. It was special to have him with me.

Wednesday we had some ECM/Laptop/user issue so I suspect it started on limp home mode.

Friday Paul Skywab and I decided to play with it and figure out the issue, which as many saw we found and got the truck to idle. (although Jimmy let me borrow his burned out ecmB fuse). http://www.manfra.org/vids/JS-TTv8.wmv

In the coming weeks I will get the trans hooked up, and some brakes.

Thanks for everybody pushing it at the track, I almost felt at home again inside.

I really wish I could have driven the truck, it just didn't happen. It is close. I do think i am the first person to win a racing class with a truck that never drove. Next year i will defend that title with a running/driving truck.

"Myclone" Most Innovative Mod award: Words can't express how much this means to me this year. This is the 3rd Most Innovative but without a doubt has the most meaning. Good to see you Lisa, I surely hope you can attend every year. If you need any help getting you or a truck to the next nats let me know.

Morgan did a wonderful job on the trophies. I know you spent some hard work making them happen, thanks.

Dobrick actually got to race a fast truck this year. The world has come to an end, everybody can go home now.

I actually ran a faster time in Hardmans Ty last year (even with the 3 jackstands, floro jack, and 3 gallons of meth in the hatch). Ran Jeremys truck down the track for a 12.6-at-105....Got Hardmans truck to do a 12.2@109 last year.

You suck at the funnies!

I thought it was cool seeing you and your dad tweaking on the truck together. He's got a lot of knowledge for this.
Congrats on your JS crew doing so well with the awards.Well deserved IMHO.
I had fun decal'ing Jeremy's Sy with the crash test dummie decals. (see JS's sig pic above) He took it like a champ...thanks Jeremy for not kicking me in the nuts for that.Maybe thats why my ride in your truck went to the blk. guy stranger, sheesh ! :(
Your truck Jeff, sounds like a beast...can't wait to see her rip.

Re: The Jeff Scott Thread on nats

As you know Vinny, i was very careful to not cause permanent damage. Practical jokes are no fun if they cause damage.

After his first run down the track and they stickers almost falling off I knew we were safe.

Paybacks are a bitch though. Guess jeremy telling me he was 10 miles behind me all the way to nats, this was his payback. Or maybe it was the day he scheduled to work on my truck to get it done for nats, then never showed up.

Next year we will be sure to entertain everybody. I am sure Hardman will have his frisbee there, Jeremy giving rides, and well my ty just might be part of the action also.

Should we include JSM ride tickets with the registration packets? I nominate Big Mike as the ticket Taker, and extra ticket sales guy. O MY GOD!

My only rule will be, any person that climbs out of my truck and admits he has a hardon, gets his ass kicked on the spot.

Ahh yes, just for the record Jeremy....Jeff used the lint off my shirt to make the decals temporary.Worked great. He even folded the edges of the decals to make for easy removal. At least you had some clean spots on your truck after the track. ;)
And +2 on the hard-on after rides. :squint:

Did Jeremy forget to release his e-brake or something? I was expecting a 11.8 slip.

The 12.8 was his finals run. I think he ran a best on 12.37 on the day. It was pretty hot at the track, probably mid to upper 80's.

Re: The Jeff Scott Thread on nats

Yep it was warm, not great weather. We just decided to not even load the full on race chip either, so it had the backup mild race chip in it.

And to be very honest, when your over a second faster than the next guy in the class, why?

We really hope someone can show up to nats and give us a run in stock turbo class.

Re: The Jeff Scott Thread on nats

Yep, pm recieved and returned several hours ago.

Hey, if I get beat by my own parts we will just find some new tricks. 11.9's is no longer acceptable anyways, we will go faster so be ready.

You memory sucks. You went 13.2 in hardmans truck, but it was @ 109. Your ET in my truck would have been faster if you would have kept the TC locked up through the finish:tdown: .

I went 12.2 in HARDman's TY at the Homecoming. Dumbass.

I was having some wastegate problems. I.E. Turbo Lag out the ass. It was getting worse all weekend. I was hoping for a low 12, but I haven't driven it for 2 1/2 months. So what can you expect.

I'll get it fixed and make a run at some 11.8's this fall.;)

I didnt get the pm no big deal but I would love 11.9 on stock turbo. And yes if I come close to catching you (very very doubtful) it would like you say force you to go faster but it is a good excuse  PLus i am on a limited budget and cant afford a trany upgrade and i dont think the stocker will take low 12's
Did to see my sig if it aint broke dont fix it i can handle that :p (i am good at breaken stuff)
