Re: The Life and Time of Typhoon #2320

doing a little testing to see what happens in D instead of OD. my WOT tune is a bit off, my 75% throttle seems

this vid is horribly bouncy...the road i live on is not ideal for this. plus we have lots of deer...so i didn't try more, its not fun to film and drive on a dark backwoods road.

i let off for a little around 70-80mph for a mild turn. unfortunately my closest track's last open day was this past weekend, so i won't be able to get a baseline run in. oh well....here's to 2014.

and one last vid I took with my gopro of a 0-100mph. have some tuning to do on the low end. Can't wait to fix my cluster either, sucks driving blind with no tach. plus my battery and oil gauges are spun around.

oh well...looks decent on the outside

yes, its got a cat and a muffler after each turbo/downpipe. Also, my exhaust setup is only 2.5". My turbos are small anyway, and I wanted to be able to hear myself think inside. Loud exhaust is only fun for short trips and trailer queens. Also, I had my gopro in the underwater housing so that muffles sound a bit little also. It's fairly loud but not obnoxious.

I might put cutouts on it at some point, but have other things to tend to before adding semi-gimmicky type stuff. I don't love my downpipes, so i'll probably change them before worrying about cutouts.

found a pic of my exhaust:

only pic of it I really took as I was getting the truck ready for NATS. The cats are small straight through race cats, and magnaflow straight through race mufflers. Basically as non-restrictive as possible for being under 3".

Re: The Life and Time of Typhoon #2320

what is the light that's flashing on the dash cluster? in the videos?

"check gauges" - the truck is impressed with itself so it's telling me to "watch what I can do!"

or, the temp gauge reads way high so the cluster thinks it's overheating. Engine swap issue to deal with. Just haven't bothered since the laptop tells me things are ok.

Re: The Life and Time of Typhoon #2320

I love the stance just beautiful with the 3" block out back is there a way to lower truck up front with just changing or turning down the torsion bar keys? Without having to buy front coilovers for now?

before I had coilovers I just removed the torsion bar bolts completely so that it would be as low as possible (with 3" blocks in the rear):

Looks good. Are you running a torsion bar delete crossbrace?

I just got around to watching your video's. Your ruck moves pretty good on the highway compare to how that motor ran in the green typhoon (FYi it looks noticeably faster than my Syclone). I assume the ls1 motor still has blow by. It definitely helps keep my motivation up when I drive my truck every once in a while and make some progress.

Yea it's a different beast than the green truck. Amazing how different things are when you eliminate all the boost leaks. Pretty sure the new IC setup helped also.

And yes, still have blowby. For now. Hopefully just needs some rings and bearings. Going to freshen that up over the winter though so should know soon exactly whats up with the thing. It runs too strong to be very hurt...at least that's my optimistic side speaking.

I'm definitely more motivated to work on the thing with it working / end in site. Hopefully pulling the motor back out won't affect that at all.

motor on it's way out. It would be out now if i had a chain that 'fit', or if the stupid motor had any hoist hoops on it.

Time to freshen it up over the winter, get it to stop filling the cab with smoke on idle. And keep the oil from being sparkly gold...although it does match my wheels, that's not my goal with the oil.
