SY #2995
Began the Sy teardown on saturday.:2cents:

Have some great things in line for it.

1. RPM a2a
2. JSM Downpipe for 20g
3. 3 inch cut out and high flow cat
4. New timing chain + 2 piece cover
5. Upper and lower intake gaskets
6. Relocating transcooler maybe with fan under bed.
7. Many new braided lines
8. Driveshaft loops
and many interior necessities.

Please any constuctive criticism and comments will be appreciated.

Hoping it will just take a couple months,:rotf: but ya'll know how that goes.

I'll keep you posted but in the mean time here are some progress pics.

Re: The Rejuvination of Sy# 2995

I'm not sure if it is the last production Sy but according to the registry it seems that way. In regards to the caps I did send them with the wheels but the guy who did them was afraid to mess them updue to the way they process the wheels so I told him to leave them alone and I would do them. But you know what they say,"beggars can't be choosers" cause I got them done for free!

Re: The Rejuvination of Sy# 2995

Well, what was supposed to take me three months or so has now became a year plus :banghead::banghead:! it wasn't all a bad thing, along the way i have acquired some more parts and knowledge of some cool upgrades and am now starting to work on it a little more. I have taken some pics of the progress and here they are. Enjoy! any feed back and suggestions are welcomed..

The first is of course the rear diff cover.
The seconds a new poly trans mount.
The third is the 2 piece edelbrock aluminum cover and edelbrock double roller timing chain and the ati super damper.
The fourth is my JSM down pipe and the 20g which i modified.
The fifth of course is my front drive shaft loop.

Looking real good!

I wish that I would have documented some of my upgrades like this.
I'm about to do a full rebuild on my front end and steering, led lights and lenses, and finally my stereo.

How was the fitment of that Edelbrock timing cover? It states in their catalog that it will not fit 87 & Up engines.

Re: The Rejuvination of Sy# 2995

Thanks NJSERRANO, Good luck with your upgrades.

THEMADTYPHOON, It looks to fit ok. I bought it from Summit and according to their catalog it fits 1991 90* 4.3L. As of now everything looks to be sealing fine but I have yet to run it. Hopefully after it gets warm and cold a couple of times I won't have a leak issue or hopefully the timing chain doesn't rub. I did test fit it and it didn't seem to touch. I guess I will update you guys once I get it running.

Yea I got them done for free. My brother knew a guy that owed him a favor that worked for a company that refinished wheels. So that's how I got it for free.

Re: The Rejuvination of Sy# 2995

How many miles are on this truck? Its probably not the smartest to be modifying the last production Syclone (in terms of future value), lol ... but hey ... to each his own ;) ---

Congrats ABE!! Last time I saw your truck running was in 2007 at Jack's house. I believe you were fighting a fuel issue with the new chip & 50# injectors.
