i guess my poor old ty has earned some well deserved maintence. it successfully completed another 1500 mile round trip to missouri without any real big issues. of course i'm gonna need another front driveshaft. i killed it in dallas and had to wait in the parking lot of a pawnshop to buy some tools to pull it and then turned out a bolt rounded off so i ended up hiking to a garage on the other side of i35 to borrow a set of vise grips. if you haven't laid in a parking lot 2 hours or more from home and pulled your front driveshaft out, you don't know what you're missing. oh well now to decide what i'm gonna fix on it this round.

Ouch, some of the stories I hear on this forum make me reconsider buying a TY...But its good you got it taken care of and got home.

well so far the trip claimed a front drive shaft and the engine temp sensor and i'm still chasing dtc that came up during the trip

I wasn't 2 hours from home, but I was on the side of the street, on a narrow road, blocking traffic, with a cop insisting that I have it towed, removing a broken propshaft, and fixing a bent shift linkage on someone elses Ty

Not a sy/ty, but I did a rear axle seal in an 88 Suzuki Samurai 300 miles from home in the parking lot of autozone. Going in and buying tools as I needed them, hitch hiking to a machine shop to have the axle bearing pressed off/on, etc... Nothing quite like roadside maintenance, lol.
