the day i bought sy1712 from the auction, i was on my way home with it on the trailer i stopped at my friends car lot. his dad was thier and we chit chatted for a few minutes then he said he used to have one of those like 10 yrs prior. (dad used to own this car lot). i was surprised to say the least, then he said let me tell ya the story. he was driving along one day and said some guy was pulling it behind his truck(my stomach turned at that thought) and he stopped him and said hey why don't you sell me that old truck before you mess it up on these back roads. the guy said what will you give me and dad said 1500.00. the guy said no problem i'll bring it to you, and he did. i'm thinking wtf! now remember i just got done telling him i paid close to 10 grand for the truck and how rare they are and he was a auto dealer when these trucks were sold. i asked him what color it was and his answer was not correct then he said something about a 327cid or some crap(obviously i had lost intrest in the conversation by now). i stopped him and said plz come over here and look under the hood as i gave him some history lessons.
