Check engine light come on at all? Does it come on when you first turn the key on (to make sure it even works?).

Re: to much boost?

if it has the stock turbo on it without the cat the wastegate can't controll the boost, put the cat back on:2cents:

Re: to much boost?

The stock wastegate doesn't flow well enough to control boost without some exhaust restriction (the cat). An aftermarket boost controller is not sufficient. Either get a cat or a jsm style downpipe.

Re: to much boost?

You need to put it on a scan tool before you damage the engine. On average most stock turbo/stock motor Syclone's will take 16-17psi on pump gas, maybe 18 psi, that is only if its running 100% to begin with.

It's just a six

I would suggest installling one of these right away! http://www.alkycontrol.com/
Plus use a scan tool, Wide band O2 reader & other data logging device.

I ran with no cat,it would hold boost Ok, but would boost spike to 20 -21 psi on the shifts.
I had the wastegate adjusted to run 18-19 psi w/stock turbo.

You can loosen the tension on the wastegate actuator, ( make wastegate actuator arm longer to reduce boost)

Wastegate flapper might be binding, need to check & see it is moving nicely. If not ,use mouse milk.

Re: to much boost?

Personally I would turn the boost way down and slowly move it up monitoring it with a scan tool.

Re: to much boost?

down to stock? 14 psi?

I would probably turn it lower than that, maybe 11-12psi . Once you have a scan tool and you see the truck running properly with no spark retard you can slowly increase the boost from that point. If its running right, it will easily run 14-15psi.

got cat installed with magnaflow muffler. put stock chip back in and seems to run alot better. timing is on 0 fuel pressure is on 45. is that rite for the fuel pressure?

Not to scale
Re: to much boost?

with the vacuum disconnected that not far off...but at idle I believe its supposed to be closer to 36 with vacuum connected

Thats fine for now. What chip was in it? What did it say on it? Who did you buy it from? Where are you located? You might want to try and make some local syty friends to help you get started on the right path.
