Oh man, dropping tools down into a Sy/Ty engine bay is the absolute worst! Every time I work on my Sy, I drop tools, bolts, nuts, washers, etc. down there. 99% of the time I find them, but sometimes it takes a good 15-20 minutes. I hate leaving stuff down there if I know it's just adding dead weight to the truck plus it could do damage if it gets jammed up somewhere. A flexible magnetic pickup tool is your best friend for this sort of thing. I'm sure there's still a socket or bolt lying in my frame somewhere...sigh.

One of the best sounds you'll ever hear is the tinkle, clink, and finally clang when that socket, wrench,or bolt hits the floor!

When we were working on my buddy's 03' Cobra doing the blower swap he dropped a bolt underneath the blower. I was like are you F'in kidding me. We had to pull the blower back off, pull off the upper, and half the lower intake to get to it.

With my old 5.0L mustang we lost more shit in the engine bay. The lower A arms held alot of stuff

Having owned a shop I lost count of how many tools were lost inside cars. The worst incedent was when we left our cordless work phone under some Civics hood and the guy returned it to us two days later when he found it half melted sandwiched between his head and the hood!
That was the best phone we had!

the best i have ever seen was , a friend and i where getting ready to install a trans so we pulled the pan to to change the filter and found it full of pee gravel we dumped the gravel and put it in anyway.p.s. trans is still working and has been in numerous vehicles.

I told a friend that I wanted to buy a TY and he response was "why would you want one of those? You can drop a whole toolbox under the hood and nothing would hit the ground" LOL
