ok so in my case i just thought of this,a ty is faster than me from the start so do i still get the delay?

Re: Top Stock class

according to the rules, they will stage the two and let the Ty leave .3 faster (timing at the tree) - at least for qualifying. Once they get matched up, I dont know how they will do it...maybe a judge can clarify for all.

I still think I should get a head start....being a fat-assed S-10 Blazer and all!

In practice there will be no stagger(head start) in the tree. When elims start the tree will be staggered for the Ty head start.

ok so in that one post for example myself and frank were going to run a ty and a sy,frank already is faster by i think .2 so the ty would still get .2 more?

Yes. Your prioir performance has no effect on the head start. Being a Ty frank would get a .2 head start over a Sy.

You got a copule of months to find .3 of et. Of course Frank might red light, spin, make a bad run or be late! You never know. That is why we show up at nats to race down the track. instead of bench racing them.

Re: Top Stock class

i was just using that as a example, because the trucks are so close and they are a sy and a ty,but i think that the time delay thing is silly,i could only see it in the pure stock class etc.

Will take a look at it. We just used the rules that were in place for past nats. But reveiwing them I noticed that in Pro Stock and Top Stock the min wt is the same for Sy or Ty.

I'll talk to Renz. His is the final call.

BTW are the mods in your sig accurate? If so I believe you qualify for top stock not only Pro Stock. So you would be the fast truck in Top Stock!

Re: Top Stock class

Having been present at a few NATS, I don't remember many typhoons ending up winning when racing a syclone anyway. Remember that any weight reduction being done to the Typhoon (for the most part) can also be done to the Syclone.

Also...remember that these are SyTys racing, not pure bracket racers typically. An 11.3sec truck will most likely be running 11.3, 11.7, 11.5, etc. Also remember that most of the people that race their syty have the crappiest reaction time ever...or those with good reaction times have crappy 60' becuase they didn't have time to build enough boost to launch properly.

IMO, the rule stays. It's been in place for years, and there is always some bickering about it, but in the end isn't the cuase of someone winning/losing....their driving is the reason.

Also don't forget that isn't not just weight, it's also wheelbase. Ty's have a much shorter wheelbase that is detrimental to weight transfer. Compare the #s and i'd be willing to be that most of that .2 seconds is accounted for in the first 60' of the track anyway.
