Actually i think it was more like 400ft lbs. stupid impact gun. I had probs getting the pan to seat itself on the motor and got fed up w/ messing w/ it so i just used my trusty impact gun

Arent you using the rail supports? They are there to distribute the torque evenly

Tighten the bolts until you hear a 'snap', then back it off a 1/4 turn.

:rotf: :rotf: I've never done that but I heard the bolt head just stays in the socket. Gives a lot more clearance when you have stuff interfering the bolt head.
Just use the sledge to mate the trans to the engine. That way you don't have to seat the converter. It'll smush together nicely  :)

You know, I was wondering about the torque specs for this as well. I've recently *modified* my oil pan to clear my new main caps and the Eagle rods. In the process, I fear I have distorted the pan quite well. Should I pick up another pan, and try to do it more gently? In order to even get the pan on, I have to "convince" it that it will fit.

Oil pan bolts to 11Nm (100 in. lbs.)
Oil pan nuts at corners to 23 Nm (17 Ft. lbs.)

If you need another oil pan LMK I have one that I may not be using.
