tough guy in Jeep Overland

not really a "kill" but pretty funny.

decided to drive the Ty to work today. On the way to the freeway the road is 2 lanes in each direction. I'm coming up to a stop sign when i notice this Jeep behind me right on my ass. The guy swings out to the right lane and pulls up next to me at the stop sign. About 300ft after the stop sign the 2 lanes merge for about a mile and then open back to 2 lanes.

I got to the stop sign before him and left a little bit before him but was driving casual until i heard this guys motor rev up like he's gonna try to cut me off before the 2 lanes merge. Nope! He gets about a half a car length on me before I hit the gas and fly by so he can't pass. This guy gets all pissed off lays on the horn and starts flashing his lights at me... I'm just laughing the whole time as the guy is a foot off my bumper for the next mile.

Right before the freeway on ramp the road opens back up to 2 lanes and he swings out to my left as we pull up to a red light. This guy has all 4 windows down, wearing a golf visor, and is smoking a cigar at 730 in the morning (who does that?) and flips me off. So i roll the window down laughing and say "no chance buddy, NO CHANCE!" he yells back "you ****ing cut me off!!!", and I said "no, you're trying to pass me on the right, and lost", he yells back "**** you!" and I just keep laughing. The light turns green and he guns it off the line and cuts in front of me to get on the freeway and i let him go. I'm behind him on the on ramp and as soon as the ramp straightens out I swing out to the left, get on the freeway, and then pull up along side of him so he can't get on the freeway. He honks at me again and then has to slow down and get behind me to get on the freeway. After he gets on the freeway he swings out to the next lane and floors it past me, flips me off again, then cuts in front of me, taps his brakes, and then speeds off.

Guess someone had their grande latte enema early this morning.

I think I like the fact that people completely underestimate these trucks, more than i like the truck itself.

I have tried to respond twice to this and keep restarting as it turns into pages of text.

Let me just say. Blocking people from changing lanes is dangerous, to both you and him. I don't care what the other person did, you were in the wrong just as much if not more.

I find this not funny/cute/badass in anyway shape or form. Be better than that.

Too bad you were in the Ty. If that happened to me and I was driving anything other than the Ty or Biscayne and he was tailing me, I'd pound on the brakes so friggen hard, let him hit me, I wqould have done the same as what you did. Too funny.

I didn't block him from changing lanes, I blocked him from getting on the freeway. The first case he was in no danger, he was just pissed that 22 year old blazer passed him when he floored it to try to get out in front of me before the lane merged The freeway case, he was in no danger either, all he had to do was slow down to get on the freeway... behind me. No one is gonna get shot, and especially not by a guy that's running late to his 8am tee time at Sherwood.

no need to get worked up man... it's not like the guy was crossing double yellow lines into oncoming traffic and i was blocking him from getting over... THAT would be not funny/cute/badass. This was merely a guy who got some early morning vehicle enlightenment, and was pissed because his wife talked him into the Overland when he shoulda bought the SRT.

"Sir, I had him in my sights. He saw me move in for the kill.

He proceeded below the hard-deck. We were below for just a few seconds.

I had the shot. There was no danger, so I took it."

I wouldn't feel bad either, I'd also do the same thing. Can't tell you how many times I have been in situations like this. I don't put up with peoples BS, especially not scumbags that try to push me around because their POS truck is bigger than mine.

Always a good feeling to put the self appointed "Kings of the Road" in their place. I am defensive with the Ty but in my S10 I pray for someone to hit me so I can roll out and mumble "....back pain....ambulance.....lawyer.....emotional pain and suffering" haha.

X2...had some SOB in an F250 tried me at a light right after I bought my Ty. Saw him punch some buttons on his power commander and rev it up. I let him launch then I launched and immediately shot past him. Funny thing was, the light before that, he looked at me in his mirror as I was in the opposite lane behind the vehicle next to him. He was revving it up and spun the tires when he launched. He got owned at the next light when we were side-by-side. :rotf:

Sorry...not trying to hijack the thread.

You are saying you are purposely going to fake injuries? For what a better pay out and more money? I would feel horrible thinking that someone was injured in a wreck I was involved in, then to find out they were just playing/faking/joking or trying to rip off my insurance...

Just more lost hope in humanity and faith in people. Not to mention, why we have to pay more for insurance because it's paying out money to people that have nothing wrong with them.

This thread is going places.

IF he were to do that, I do not blame him for one second! God forbid I get into another accident, but if I do, I'm milking the hell out of it! Hire up a good ambulance chaser lawyer, deny out of court arbitration, take it to court, show up in a wheel chair and neck brace, start crying and pissing myself in court. ALL JUSTIFIABLY SO!!!! You're entitled to your opinion, but until you get into a not at fault accident and get completely SCREWED by an insurance company, you can't judge.

and I think insurance companies have enough money, considering I can't watch ANYTHING on TV without seeing a commercial for car insurance. TV ad space is not cheap by any means... and I sure as hell do not think that a majority of everyone's increased premiums is going to pay fraud claims. One TV spot during prime time costs an insurance company more than they'd pay out on a fraud claim, so i don't buy that shit for a second.

I dropped progressive 3 years ago because i got sick of idiot Flo and their dumbass commercials... not going to contribute to them, Geico, Allstate, or State Farm.

AAA has no commercials and gives me a dividend on my premium every year I don't file an "at fault" claim.
