I put the Drawtite # that I had installed on this website ~ a month or 2 ago. The installer had to do some cutting & welding on it. Basically he had to turn it aroun 180 Deg.

I had another ty back in 93-94 and had a drawtite hitch on it. (The small class) I pulled twin wave runners on it everwhere. Made a couple of trips to Cumberland with them behind the Ty. Never had a problem. The Ty was bone stock.

Actually this is what I have done to my new build. It is a receiver built into the chassis behind the license plate. The plate folds down. I am holding the bumper up in the pics so it is exactly lined up. Also nothing is painted and trimmed yet.

The spring lever comes down to the bottom of the bumper...easy access to disengage pin...

The reason for the receiver is:

1) Holds the removable bracket for the chute assemble.
2) I may need to pull a small trailer to compete in the 5 tracks/5days event one of these years. You can only take with you what you can hold or tow.

I am sure you could fab something up so that you could take the plate off and pop on a hitch in place of the plate temporarilly, I have see similar stuff done on S-10's. IDK if I would recommend it, but if you do, post up some pics to piss people off

 Looks pretty good
