Towing Info

My local enterprise rents Chevy Silverados and Ford F150's. Are these vehicles capable of towing a Ty?

I need to tow because I'm headed to Memphis after the Nats and don't want to drive/drag my truck. I'll be looking for a secure "home" for the Ty during that time so chime in if you can babysit (truck will remain on trailer) and live near B.G.

Re: Towing Info

2 hrs north we can hook you up with some storage while you take your travels to see Elvis.

Might even be able to schedule hauling it from BG back to Louisville if needed.

Only 1 member I know of in BG and he isn't very active, Louisville to North, Kellers a bit south along with Jimmy.

Re: Towing Info

Thanks everyone...I see that I would likely pass through Nashville to get to Memphis, so that might work out well. And the idea of a garage is VERY attractive, so thanks Joe.

Yes, I'll have to put a hitch on it...in fact, I probably shouldn't tell Enterprise I'm towing with it. :dunno:

GRACELAND (oh, and uh, Bowling Green)...here I come!!! :guitar:

No members in Memphis, is that right??

DO NOT TELL ENTERPUKE YOU'RE TOWING ANYTHING :rotf::rotf:

I worked there for 4 years and we didn't allow towing with any vehicles. I know people did it but if customers told us that's what they were doing we didn't rent to them.

Just make sure you have good insurance that will cover it if something happens

I'm kinda looking for a trailer/Sy storage place too. I'll be headed to Atlanta after nats, quite likely, and I'd really like to avoid dragging the whole thing through Tenn. and Ga.

I will say Keller can handle you also dig. Heck I will put him on the line having been to his house before.

I would trust my car in his neighborhood also.

Dig, you can bring yours over too. I may have to shuffle a car or two around but I can squeeze it in a garage too. I have 1800+ sq ft of garage space so it should be no problem. Im not totally sure if I can fit another one inside after Dig but I have plenty of parking space outside if anybody else needs a SyTy babysitter. Like Jeff said, my neighborhood is very safe.

Re: Towing Info

Good move, NOT taking your Ty to Memphis. It's on the top 10 list of 'most miserable cities' in the US. The reason, violent crime. It's rate of violent crime is twice that of metro NYC and close to Detriot. Take a rental and a Ruger and make sure you've got insurance on the rental, then it's only an anoyance if it's not where you parked it in the morning.

You are correct. The rest of the state of Tennessee does NOT claim Shelby county as being part of it. It is its own little world. Although they gave us Elvis and they have some GOOD BBQ.
